Christmas Dreams
Somewhere beyond where the light rarely goes
Somewhere beyond where the dark barely breathes
Somewhere this night where the dark only knows
She awaits ever patient
She awaits rarely seen
But her moments are taken
For in the dead of the night
Gathering light
Christmas dreams
I want to wrap all my moments around her
I want to watch as she glitters the night
Floats her dreams in the air
People watch, children stare
At these tears of captured light
While she awaits ever patient
She awaits rarely seen
Still her moments are taken
For in the dead of the night
Gathering light
Christmas dreams
And a tear falls upon her snow-white hair
And it runs to the end where it lingers there
Then it falls through the air of a winter's sky
Till it captures a dream and it's crystalized
Let it go!
Let it go!
This old world that i know
For soon everything will be changing
In a single glance
Where it all enchants
And every hope is worth saving
And a tear falls upon her snow-white hair
And it runs to the end where it lingers there
Then it falls through the air of a winter's sky
Till it captures a dream and it's crystalized
Let it go!
Let it go!
This old world that i know
For soon everything will be changing
In a single glance
Where it all enchants
And every hope
Every hope
Every hope is worth saving...

Karl the fog breathes its timeliness magic upon the city, reminding us the most extraordinary experiences come from losing ourselves in the mist. It veils the city in a spiritual dance, where the material realm intertwines with the unseen.

Blue Energy on Pioneer Creek at midnight. 30 seconds of light painting using a Kick Light on a selfie stick with a 50mm lens on the camera body, followed by a lensless refractograph burn.
I have always granted myself the freedom to exercise artistic license and pursue whatever brings me joy. Currently, shots from my cellphone and digital AI artwork fulfill that purpose, at least for the time being.

A Tolkeinesque scene emerges from the cold mist, a dramatic landscape lit by the weak glow of the low winter sun, its heatless blush struggling to warm the frozen earth. Huddled against the biting wind, it was hard to not to let my mind run free as numb fingers set filters and clicked with the changing light.
We are lucky to share this amazing hobby. To see the world from so many differing viewpoints.
Have a fabulous week, Flickrites.

What Is It About A Solitary Tree That Captures One's Gaze and Imagination?
No matter where you live, you have seen one. And I'm betting when you did, you allowed your gaze to linger for awhile. If you are a camera bug, you may even have pulled over while driving down some road, and shot a picture or two. Sometimes it is a majestic, old oak tree in the middle of a farmer's field...surrounded by acres of plowed field. Why did they leave just that one tree? Surely there must have been many others at some time.
A forest is lush. Dense. But while a forest has its own charms, it can sometimes seem impenetrable. Uninviting, even. A lone tree holds a completely different kind of allure. It is somehow mysterious. It's almost magnetic, especially when the cleared land around it is expansive. You ask yourself how that one tree, and only that tree, managed to escape the axe and survive. You sometimes may even feel compelled to walk across the field to look at it from a closer perspective. Stand in its shade. It provokes contemplation. The trees in a stand of woods lose their individuality and become almost indistinguishable from one another, at least until fall. But a lonesome tree? It calls out to you. "Look at me. I'm still here!"

Taken around 1 p.m. this picture is a prime example of how beatufiul the illumination can be in Lapland mid-winter.

Still cruising through my Antarctica images; some take me right back to the moment I was floating in the Zodiac and witnessing such scenes firsthand!
A wonderful installation at LEA 29 (127, 158, 2921) by French artist, Gem Preiz. Loads of inspiration here!
“The sea at dusk is a mirror….. So abundant is the light and so huge the mirror that the whole of a summer evening floats reflected on the glass. Colors gather there, twilight and moonrise, cloud shadows and cloud reflections, the pewter dullness of gathering rain.”
Henry Beston, The Outermost House, 1928

This was an interior view of Casa Batlló in Barcelona, a masterpiece by Antoni Gaudí.
The large, curvaceous windows with stained glass details take centre stage on the Noble Floor, forming a gallery onto Paseo de Gracia, which is ideal to see and be seen. The organic, flowing architecture, characteristic of Gaudí’s modernist style, is evident in the arched columns, undulating ceiling, and the warm wooden details. A radiant chandelier hangs from the centre, casting a golden glow that highlights the wave-like patterns on the ceiling. The overall effect is reminiscent of an underwater scene, a common theme in Gaudi's work.

Feuilles d'or tombent,
Le cyprès chauve s'embrase,
Reflet rouge en eau.
Golden leaves descend,
Bald cypress burns in soft flame,
Red mirrored in pond.
Here's another from that magical morning of shooting sunrise in Bryce. The morning the snow stopped, and the sun came out. For those first few hours, it was just spectacular! And, COLD!!!
Try viewing this one large. This place is just so overwhelming.
