Cattails bask along the ice-covered Dreamkeeper Pond in the last falling rays of an evenstar. Photo taken in Northeast Ohio.

Another of the Dreamkeeper Pond's many sunset moods. Only Photoshop used was the healing brush to remove a tiny white speck in the clouds which may have been a UFO. (Now the world will never know ...) Otherwise, the color, lighting, cropping, and everything else was just as you see it. Photo taken in Northeast Ohio.

A weak path of light struggles across a wind-rippled Dreamkeeper Pond as an evening sun battles cold clouds. Photo taken a week and a half ago in Northeast Ohio.

Peaceful clarity falls over the pond as a single Wood Thrush sings unseen in the distance on a spring evening at Mapleside Farms in Northeast Ohio. No Photoshop used on this image.

The Dreamkeeper pond mirrors a bright sky reflection as a water background to the teasel growing along its banks.

"Dreamkeeper" is the name I've given this pond, which is very special to me. I hope such pictures will be possible in the future, as the owners of Mapleside Farms have sold some of their land for a housing development, and construction on roads and such has already begun, judging from what I saw in the apple orchard fields at night when I attended the special Wild Game Night at their restaurant this weekend.

An enchanted evening at the edge of the Dreamkeeper Pond. Actually, this cottage sits between two ponds ... the other I may as well call the Forgotten Pond, since it is often overlooked.

Twilight clouds settle in a hushed moment over the Dreamkeeper Pond for a good view of the sunset mirrored in reflective waters.

Changed the texture in Photoshop. Kept the original color and contrast, as I very much liked the lighting just as it was.

Just when you think the Dreamkeeper Pond has nothing else to offer, a new surprise surfaces. I never saw so many rings like this all at once. Photo taken in Northeast Ohio.

Of the many moods of the Dreamkeeper Pond at Mapleside Farms, peacefulness ranks high and comes in a variety of colors. Yesterday evening featured a wintry blending of peach-orange, brown, and grey.

Photo taken at Mapleside Farms in Northeast Ohio.

Spoke to one of the owners of Mapleside Farms a week ago, who told me that yes indeed the housing development is going to be put in. Discussion about how this would affect the view left me with as many questions as I'd started. So I'll just keep coming here for as long as there's decent scenery to warrant it. Photo taken last Saturday in Northeast Ohio.

Please note that I respect the decision that was reached on this property. The owners of Mapleside Farms have given a great deal to the community for over 30 years, and are only selling based on necessity, including family and health reasons. Meanwhile, I will document the landscape.

As I bought a pumpkin yogurt cone at Mapleside Farms where this pond is, there was a slightly chilling sign: "Dona and I have managed this ice cream stand for 13 years and enjoyed serving you. Due to health reasons, we would like to sell this stand." I further learned that the owners of Mapleside Farms have sold off at least some of the land to housing developers.

I will continue to take sunset pictures of the Dreamkeeper Pond for as long as the scenery exists.

It has been kindly suggested by railwalker_de that we start an e-mail campaign to stop this land from being developed. A very thoughtful idea indeed, and I vastly appreciate the sentiment and want to say thank you railwalker for your suggestion! In this particular case though, the private farmer selling the land has given the community a great deal of good times and good memories for many years, and is only selling due to necessary personal reasons. Therefore, while it will sadden me tremendously if such photos as these are no longer possible, I will respect the farmer's decision even while I mourn it. I can only hope to find another such beautiful place someday.

Meanwhile, I have just a few shots of this place left to post from the archives. And weather permitting some weekend soon, I plan to take a trip back out to see if photography is still possible here, and if so, to take advantage of whatever scenery lasts.

Feeling called to the Dreamkeeper Pond after a long absence, I was astounded to see from the top of the hill strange movements just below the water's surface. Some father was telling his son that there were fish in there making those ripples, but I've never seen anything quite like this. Perhaps a UFO lurks just beneath the water ...

You never know what you're going to see when you visit the Dreamkeeper Pond. That strange cloud almost resembles a snake in the sky, but it could also be a sea horse in the water.

As All Dream Children Little Leilani was born form the Death of a unborn Child for win a Child dies before they are born in to the world the DreamKeepers take the little lost Souls and give them a Realm that they can play in for all time one that no one should be able to hurt them. Now one up side of being a Dream child is much like a God or Vampire they will never Age... but their minds all so will never grow far beyond the age of Innocents making them forever trapped with in the State of a child for all time. The other down side is they are week as children their age so it would be so its easy for some one to hurt them. So if you see a dream Child be tender with them. The bodies they have are made by the folds of there own souls for there is what the child would of looked like if she had lived with in the waking world so win you see a dream child now that you are seeing their true form if they had been aloud to live.

All thou 9 is her Mental Age and body her real age is far past that but she would never know it for with in the World Of Dreams Time holds no Value. All thou one would think that this little girl would grow sad over time never growing it seems she has never once found sorrow for her self. She finds reasons to keep playing for every Smile she helps some one to have is one more moment worth living. ^_^ She seems to have a mission to make all the worlds with in the stars one of joy and love and no matter what.

Will this Little Girl Find the Power to bring Love to the Stars... Find out more as we see her on her Adventures.

Teasel-painted sunset strokes at the Dreamkeeper Pond.

It made me jump when the ice in the half-frozen Ohio pond started cracking right when the last rays of the setting sun played over its surface.

From the archives ... one of my very first shots of the Dreamkeeper Pond two years ago ... No Photoshop used.

A true treasure of an evening. The water of the Dreamkeeper Pond was so perfect, and on this night, the resident duck was tamely cooperative. Normally the birds at this pond tend to be a bit on the skittish side. I am also extremely grateful for the courtesy and immense patience shown by a bunch of other people, fellow sunset watchers, who wanted to go down to the pond but saw me raise my camera so they stopped and waited for me to take pictures.
