Another shoutout to Yale, as part of this figure was inspired by him as well. (And, again, could someone please tag him in the comments?)
The legs were painted by me. The line on his chest and on his head were also painted by me.
His knives are regular LEGO knife handles but with the blade cut off. The current blades are made from those bendy razor pieces with the slit in the middle, and were hotglued on. They were then painted by me.
What do you think?
My third favorite MCU film so far. I love what Lego has done with these minifigures (except for groot) but they do lack some detailing(at least for star lord, drax and rocket) Gamora and Groot are basically fully painted except for gamora's head and hair
Wee, I have like 3 more pictures to edit for my art show how fun! Doing this is so time consuming but it is for a greater good and I feel guilty for not posting anything in a while

A review of the MCU GotG 5 pack, Disney exclusive
TL;DR: Great stuff if you missed out
Gamora- Heels are never the easiest to balance. Face is stoic, I would’ve preferred slightly angry. She comes with sword and retracted sword for accessories. Both are pretty cool and retracted sword fits into a side holster well. (Legends GotG Vol2 reissue)
Rocket- tiny figures with 18pts of articulation and two different molded blasters (I don’t think this figure could wield other weapons/large guns unfortunately). Head can only rotate, like Ursa Major. Mouth doesn’t close. (Legends GotG Vol2 reissue)
StarLord- legs are kind of basic, jacket limits range of motion slightly. He comes with two identical blasters that port into his legs when standing in vanilla pose. He also has two head options, both are really good. I’d say the Pratt face is almost reminiscent of the GotG Game version. No jetpack accessories or sculpts- same for Walkman. (Legends Ego 2 pack reissue)
Drax the Destroyer- possibly my favorite of the lot, surprisingly. Normal articulation with pins and ab crunch. He comes with his twin identical daggers that can be stared in boot holsters. Face sculpt is pretty great for this fig. (Legends GotG Vol2 reissue)
Groot(s)- two tiny unarticulated groots are fine. Big Groot is substantial in size. His sculpt hinders articulation slightly. His face is a little derpy, a serious expression may’ve worked better. (Legends TRU exclusive reissue)
All of the sculpts and paint apps are good. Packaging is cool. Pinned-joints are going to look dated soon. When comparing this set to what Hasbro is asking for the MojoWorld 3.5 pack, I think this isn’t an insane price point. Having missed out on comic and previous iterations of this team, I’m happy to have this in my collection.
Cosmic shelf is looking much better with this addition!

So for many fans of the Guardians of the Galaxy films, the figures of Drax were good but were lacking in the likeness for Dave Bautista, but with the release of the figures for Guardians Vol.3, we got a great new head sculpt. It did raise the question for me, can the new head be used on the older Vol.2 body? You know, the one with the yelling face? The answer turns out to be, well...yes. The skin tone is almost a dead on match to the Vol.2 body as is the red paint on his face. This is a VERY easy head swap and it takes almost no effort. The ONLY thing I did was after test fitting the head and finding it was a bit loose was to take the head back off, warm it up which allowed the plastic to relax again, cool it off under some cold water and put it back on and the fit was nice and snug
Aside from the Marvel Legends Cosmic Rewind boxed set from Disney, which uses the Vol.1 head, so not the best likeness this is the only other way to get both a great Dave Bautista likeness for Drax as well as it being his shirtless look.

Here's an alternate angle from the other side. I really like how this turned out and aside from if Hasbro retooled the base body to have pinless joints, I think this works quite well for my displays as my definitive MCU Drax.

This guy was actually quite difficult to shoot. Not only was the figurine small but it was also sort of awkwardly posed. You see, this figurine was posed in a kneeling position that looks sort of cool but it really makes it hard for it to stay upright and for you to see the detail of the face on the character. It's almost a shame because it's a really cool little figurine.
Anyhow, Drax here took required a few tricks to get just right. I couldn't bounce enough light around to illuminate him so I ended up having to shoot him at an odd, yet stable angle in order to get this view. In the end, it worked out, just not too easily.
