Tenuous Link: Show me your palm.

I was in a number of plays in High School, but "Our Town" was by far the most poignant and philosophical about the concepts of daily reality, life and what happens after.

I loaded a 90 minute tape into my cassette recorder and asked my Dad to capture the audio of one of our performances while my parents sat close to the stage.

After about an hour, crying is clearly heard from the audience at key moments of the play. I still have this tape today and occasionally listen to it with a sense of nostalgia mixed with sadness. If you ever get to see this amazing classic, I heartily recommend it.

My theatre students went out the staqe door and played in snow in their new costumes. They are wearing, "root suits." It has been a VERY snowy winter here in New England.

Scratch build car, greased lightning, for the musical, Grease (high school) build from luan plywood on 2x3 frame. Engine (replaceable with bad engine for before scene) is also luan plywood glued on 2x3 blocks and uses 2 aluminum cook drip pans and PVC pipes. The car features WalMart driving lights and Mustang mag wheels right off my car.

I believe those windows were for Mrs. Willa O'Neill's drama class, which I had in the 7th Grade.

Mrs. O'Neill was awesome - a very expressive lady (as I imagine most drama teachers are). She had big, plastic-framed glasses (like Sally Jesse Raphael), and she had a bit of an accent - which I must have thought was a "New York" accent at the time. I got to participate in a field trip with her class that took us across the border into Ontario, to Stratford to watch a production of The Taming of the Shrew.

It used to crack me up when I'd walk into class and she'd be over by the windows which were cracked open, waving her hands, with more than a faint trace of cigarette smoke in the air, with lots of perfume sprayed to camouflage it.

It was in that class that I learned the difference between moving to the right and moving "stage right".

Now Fran doesn't know how she'll ever get through two long bor-ing months without Debbie. All the other kids have either gone away or have their own best friends. Fran certainly doesn't want that new girl Veronica from Hollywood hanging around.

But then Fran sees an ad: SUMMER THEATRE PROJECT FOR KIDS. Doing a play could be fun. When Fran shows up for the first day, she gets a terrible surprise - weird Veronica is there. Now Fran is sure her summer's ruined. Or is it?

my neutral mask looks less creepy when i wear it this way

When I was a teenager, I wrote in my diary every day for 365 days. I kept that up for years actually. This beauty is circa 1979. Many days, 1 page was not enough, so I would write more on scrap paper, then paperclip it to that particular day. An excerpt, you ask? I shall pull a quote from April 18, 1979 in honor of today's 365:

....." I have bad news about Drama class. I don't have the lead part in Westside Story anymore. We took votes if we wanted to do it or not and I voted No, cause nobody was really trying. So, now, Janice and I are out of Westside Story and need to find something else to do.......

Funny thing is, what I wrote then versus what I remember now is different. On top of that, Janice, my partner in Drama crime (yes, we're still close friends 30+ years later) has another version stuck in her head. Strange thing, our minds, eh?.

In 2021, my fellow students and I staged The Tempest by William Shakespeare at the uni. For one scene, I arranged stage lighting, produced stage designs, and made three masks (Ferdinand, Ariel, and Caliban). The costumes you see here were made by my classmate Roman (IG: @onion_tears).
