I never cease to be surprised by the wildlife opportunities that so often arise in cemeteries.

Today a was no exception as my husband and I wandered among the grave stones but then we paused and reflected that many of the graves occupants where so much younger than ourselves leading us to thankfully conclude that we are well past our ‘die by date’

As we stood beside a weather beaten grave of a man who died in 1866 aged fifty six we saw a migrant hawker land on a nearby bush.

Camera up and a quick click captured the moment which led us to ponder that such beauty came from something rather unattractive which lead on to the reflection of a comment in the Good Book that at the resurrection changes will take place in the twinkling of an eye, presumably into something more attractive that before.

It also led us to ponder that with so many arising there could be a need for crowd control!!!! Food for thought maybe?

I was always amazed by dragonflies, this one unfortunately had mites...

I believe Dragonflies are Angels in disguise, this must explain these beautiful creatures coming so close to me,

Yesterday at the pond me and Eleni went to feed the fish, had this one come to my hand and then landed on Eleni,

she was a bit scared to pose long enough for me to take a shot,

I know many of you say its hard to get a photo of them, perhaps the setting has something to do with getting one,

I have some contacts that take great photos of them,

Good morning and HDT. It's Thursday so that means dragonfly photos from yours truly starting with the above female Blue Dasher (Pachydiplax longipennis) and continuing in the comment section with a compulsory shot of a male Blue Dasher and a Twelve-spotted Skimmer. And if I remember right, all three shots were taken at "the pond across the street". The two photos in the comment section for sure, although I'm not absolutely positive about the above shot...old age thing :-)

Thank you for visiting today...I hope you have a truly great Thursday and for those of you in the eastern half of the country, please be safe if you need to venture outdoors for any length of time with the dangerously cold sub-zero temperatures we're experiencing.

Beautiful Dragonfly

I want to be able to set you free,

Fly, Fly, Fly,

But I don't want to let you go,

High in the sky,

I want to be able to hold you in my grasp forevever,

Beautiful Dragonfly,

But I don't want to hold on.

Ah! Sigh, Sigh, Sigh,

At the very least, please see that I at least want to try.
