...teary eyes and all. the journey came full circle a few weeks ago. this was a magical day. this day settled so much for my mommy's courageous fight, me, our family and all those "still waiting".
life filled moments. donate life.

Jenna is alive because someone donated their kidney to her!
Change the ending to someone's story - be an organ donor!
Celebrating 4 years of the gift of life!
My dog Chipper in the morning light, contemplating life. His littermate was adopted by my kidney donor - she was a complete stranger prior to donating! AND...these puppies were born on our kidney transplant day - but we didn't discover that until AFTER we adopted them! 💚
that the list will become less to none in my lifetime!
i am working on the proposal now. i met with the north carolina coalition and they were beyond wonderful. we clicked quite nicely. our goals are the same. to bring new light to organ donor awareness through photographs and personal stories. i love that i can share mine as well. i hope to connect with all involved. it always makes things easier when you have someone to relate to, someone that knows the emotions involved, someone striving to make the difference. education & awareness are truly the answer!
happiness & hope...we all want it, need it, & strive for it!
and if you have any unique gallery display ideas i would love to hear them. there are many options out there. i would love any links if you have them ;o) thank you all so much for the endless encouragement & support!

May the recipient of David's sight see the beauty of the world the way he did.
May the recipient of Allen's heart love the way he did.
We all have the power to save and heal lives.
yesterday was such a remarkable day. my hubbie had told me to watch out for the mail. well the mail came and in it was a 2gig card for my camera....never too much storage for raw...right! then ups came with the happiest package. the sweetest note was attached... we support you ;o) love my family...it was the 30D ....how exciting...TOTAL shock...so here is pic 2 from the camera...cookie face and all. i am having to relearn, it is capturing differently than my rebel. i am looking forward to new fun ;o)
this is a big week for me in many ways. i am meeting with Carolina Donor Services (organ donation) partnering with them in capturing the lives of all involved in organ donation. the waiting, the families, the families of donors, the volunteers. you already know by my mom's story how much this will matter to me & my family. i am a firm believer that all good, bad, hard, happy, chaotic, emotional journey's in life hold purpose and although you may not see it at the moment it will become abundantly clear somewhere down the path. well this is it for me. i hope to document the lives of all involved and hopefully by some grace... others will be changed by my series. they are partnered with Duke Transplant Center(an amazingly gifted generous team) where my mom was going to receive her transplant. they are also partnered with many other great companies & people. two of my biggest passions are being brought together. and a family that is fully behind me...encouraging me to make the difference. today as every other day... it is a good healthy life...i am using it wisely ;o) for me this is so powerful & purposeful and incredibly personal...so cheers to a new incredible journey!

DonateLife Queensland aims to raise awareness about organ and tissue donation and encourage Queenslander's to sign up on the Australian Organ Donor Register to save lives.
Someone is alive today because someone said "yes" to organ and tissue donation. One donor can save and heal up to eight lives through organ donation.
In USA, you can register to be an organ and tissue donor at your state department of motor vehicles. Be sure to share your decision with family and friends.

My little nephew Orlando celebrated his Christening & Confirmation yesterday in Mordialloc, Melbourne. We had a beautiful afternoon at the Main Street Cafe in Mordialloc www.mainstreet3195.com.au/ beautiful coffee, food, local beer & wine.
He is very ill & in desperate need of a liver transplant (within 3 months). When you see a little 9 month old very ill it really breaks your heart.

We are approaching Jenna's 3rd kidneyversary in July. Here's a photo from her two year kidneyversary! 😁"Celebrating now because Jenna, her dad and I finally got to meet Jenna’s awesome kidney donor Mark Peters and his sweet wife Candace. They live in Illinois and are in SoCal for a conference. We are so happy they made time to visit! Mark donated a kidney so his sister-in-law could get one in return, and Jenna was the lucky recipient! I know I have said this before, but living donors are the most wonderful people in the world!" ❤️
Dear Friends -
This is a project near and dear to my heart! Every year there's a wonderful prom for teenagers and young adults with kidney disease. Everything at the 2010 Renal Teen Prom is FREE - gowns for the girls and ties for the boys are donated, dinner and party treats included, transportation is covered.
Long time survivor, Lori Hartwell, founder and president of RSN, glowed with happiness watching the teens dance, laugh, and make friends at last year's event. “That’s why I created the Renal Teen Prom,” she exclaimed. “I missed my own prom because of chronic kidney disease, which I have had since I was 2. I spent all my teenage years on dialysis. I know that one friend can make a difference, and we give these young people the chance to get to know others who are like them, walking in the same shoes.”
This is the 11th annual prom and I am so honored to help with planning it this year. Lori Hartwell and her team do a fabulous job! The theme is "Masquerade!"
Please send this info on to young kidney patients, friends and family. And if you'd like to donate, or live in the LA area and can drive a teen, please follow the link below.

Jenna and her brother will also be volunteering again this year!

When you come to the edge of all the light you have ever known
and you are about to step out into the edge of darkness
Faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
there will be something to stand on,
or you will be taught to fly
.Patrick Overton
three years ago today the world became a
different place to live in. my mom lost her
most courageous battle ever. waiting on a heart
transplant in her late forties. there are many
more details to her story, but i want to keep
this focused on two things.
.her beauty & grace.
.and organ donor awareness.
she lit every room she walked into, literally!
she shared her life & love & laughter with
everyone she met. she had the eyes of an angel.
she was true & real. she saw the beauty in everyone,
even the people that chose to believe they
weren't...she showed them that they were! i
could not be any prouder to be her daughter, i
thank her everyday for raising me to be who i
am. i aspire to see the world through her eyes.
so that i may teach my daughters to see the
world this way too. our lives are not long
enough, losing her taught me that a .lifetime.
may sound long, but is really too short! the
hardest part for me is what my girls are
missing out on. miss m & sparkly k were her
life, her drive to fight and stay alive. i am
grateful for the beautiful memories they are
left with of her and her love for them! lady o
was hand picked and blow down to us from her.
she has my mom's eyes & expressions, and her
peace & beauty. we were showed that although
life must come to end here on earth, the circle
goes on. so with all the pain we held letting
her go, we were given new life to help heal us
here on earth. the circle continues.
organ donation is something everyone should be
educated on! with anything in life, it doesn't
become completely understandable until you are
personally effected by it. but, through
education we become aware of its importance.
and organ donation saves lives. the .waiting.
list for donations is way too long. and it is
suffering long! there should never be a wait
that makes you question if today is the last.
all i am asking is that you become educated on
organ donor awareness and if you make the
decision to do so then let your loved ones
know. my mom was a donor and with her donation
she changed many lives. a grandmother can now
see her grandchildren and enjoy painting,
reading & driving again because of my mom. she
helped burn victims, and more. i only received
a few gratitude letters from recipients. but, i
treasure them more than anything. they have
helped with our healing. and again it just
proves how much she gave to others, she is
still giving after her passing.
i am working on a license plate for the state
of north carolina. my miss m has designed the
license plate. the state of north carolina
requires 600 applicants before they can put it
into production. so, if you are in the state of
north carolina and interested in organ donor
awareness or in the support of it then you can
email me.
you can find the information on organ donor
awareness here. get educated DONATE LIFE!
if you read through this i thank you for taking
the time to do so. i am finding that the
friends i have made here are beyond words!
thank you for all that you do & say & share &
mostly for your love, kindness, & inspiration.
love your life, live your life, and grab
everyone around you and let them know how much
they matter! trust me on this, do not hold a
single regret inside you!
