Not much commentary needed here. One of the over 7 out of 10 Americans who say they disapprove of the Donald.
The 5 star hotel at the world famous golf course opened in 1906. The hotel and golf course were purchased by Donald Trump in 2014 and subsequently underwent a major refurbishment.
This is not intended as any kind of political statement but more of an observation. We've rarely seen the like of Donald Trump, and love him or hate him, he certainly creates conversation.
He is constantly surrounded by controversy and chaos seems to have invaded the White House, if the news outlets are to be believed. Everyday seems to bring another tempest, whether it's genuine or hyped by the network news.
I didn't start this picture with the intention of making it Trump but it kind of evolved and, as I was working on it, his sartorial trademark red tie and his distinctive hair seemed to emerge.
We live in a most interesting time.

L-R, top to bottom: Kellyanne Conway, Mike Pence, Donald Trump, Sean Spicer, Stephen Miller, Stephen Bannon, Michael Flynn (resigned), and Reince Priebus.
There are many more but this has been my protest sign in the marches I've taken part in. I've heard Julia Hahn is part of the team now, a recruit from Breitbart.
Feel free to take this and use it as you like.
I've been sitting on my hands and not posting political statements to Flickr or my blog but the time has come for any of us who are seriously worried to get to work in any way we can to save our country.
I've never stopped taking pictures even though my output is low, I'm simply so upset about what's happening in my country to focus on much else and I've been tossing most of the images I take. Being upset has a terrible affect on one's creative output although for some it can stimulate it. For me it's led to a lot of sleepless nights.

High atop the Truman Balcony, draped in custom-tailored purple velvet and sporting a solid twenty-four-karat laurel wreath that catches the firelight just right, the Commander-in-Chief finds his rhythm. Down below, the political landscape crackles and pops with the fierce, roaring brilliance of a five-alarm cultural blaze—a spectacular inferno sparked not by accident, but by a masterstroke of sheer, unadulterated spectacle. With the midterm elections looming like a thunderstorm on the horizon, conventional strategists might call for unity, caution, or a well-rehearsed press briefing, but conventional strategists never possessed this kind of showmanship.
Instead, he tunes the banjo strings with absolute nonchalance, picking out a jaunty, syncopated bluegrass riff that echoes across the glowing ruins of political decorum. Every tweet, every rally quip, every provocative decree thrown like a fresh log onto the bonfire has yielded precisely the desired result: total, mesmerizing chaos, perfectly orchestrated for prime-time ratings. The pundit class wrings its hands on cable news panels, their graphics screaming in bold crimson, while he merely smiles, tapping a gilded sandal to the tempo of the meltdown.
Why bother extinguishing the flames when the illumination makes the gold leaf on the balustrade shine so brilliantly? To the political establishment, it looks like an unprecedented institutional crisis; to the man holding the pick, it is simply the ultimate midterm tailgate party. He leans against the marble railing, admiring the smoky silhouettes of the capital monuments dancing against the orange sky, thoroughly entertained by the frantic scrambles of both allies and adversaries alike. The Secret Service agents flanking the colonnade keep their faces entirely blank behind dark sunglasses, pretending not to notice the embers drifting lazily into the Rose Garden, while the music plays on—loud, relentlessly upbeat, and completely oblivious to the heat. It turns out that setting the national discourse on fire isn't just a political strategy; when played with the right amount of twang, it’s simply first-class entertainment.

Thousands of demonstrators assembled in front of Chicago's Trump Tower to register their opposition to Donald Trump and march through the downtown area, often blocking major streets.
Throughout his campaign Trump made his racist and sexist views quite clear, as well as his disdain for women, people of color, immigrants, union members, and marginalized people of all kinds.
Some people there expressed fears of fascism and political repression. It was an overwhelming young multiracial crowd. Chants included “We want a president, not a fucking racist;” “No hate! No fear! immigrants are welcome here!”
There were similar protests across the nation.
"Skipper, his excellency didn't like the service. So, he brought his own waitstaff, housekeeping staff and his own transportation. He's also paying for all the catering. "
This image is not from today's departure of Donald Trump at the end of his presidential term -- it's actually from a 2016 trip to South Korea. But I think it captures the moment pretty well.
Today President Trump addressed the graduating Stormtrooper basic training class 933 at the Death Star.
---
Trump, "Welcome to the Empire class 933! I am going to make the Empire great again. Vader, your boss, I know him very well. He's a great guy. A very great guy. His son, not so great."
---
"I know the rebels are causing problems, but believe me, we are going to take care of it. Me and Vader are going to eliminate millions and millions of rebel scum from space. The rebellion has been a total disaster. Total disaster. I will fix it. And they will pay the bill once we are done. You will all be very very rich when it's over or dead and made into a hero to your family.
---
"Believe me--we will hunt the rebels down with a ferocity that the Galaxy has never seen. Many many rebels will wish they never rebelled. Thank you, and welcome to the Empire."

Il a vu s’enchaîner une crise sanitaire historique, une envolée du chômage et la résurgence des démons raciaux. Un printemps meurtrier au cours duquel il n’a rien fait pour apaiser une nation ébranlée. Gilles Paris
The Mayas made a few predictions ... was Donald Trump part of their predictions regarding the end of the world as we know it ?
Only time will tell ...
Mayan pottery that sure looks like Trump to me ( or am I watching too much TV news ? ) ;-)
The Department of Justice decided to unfurl a banner at its Washington, D.C., headquarters thanking Donald Trump for his leadership. I think a more appropriate statement is in order.
'Don't want to be an American idiot.
One nation controlled by the media.
Information age of hysteria.
It's calling out to idiot America.
Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alienation.
Where everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.'
