The late Michael Brecker, a top tenor sax player of his generation died well before his time after contracting an incurable blood cancer.
"Shadows and Light" is a great music video, or album if you like jazz/rock played by artists at the pinnacle of the art form.
Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorious, Don Alias and Lyle Mays also on this.
The first tune below - "Goodby Pork Pie Hat" - is a tender tribute, and before this version with lyrics, a jazz classic, to Lester Young (legendary sax.star who played for Billie Holiday) by Charles Mingus.
Joni added the powerful moving lyrics herself. Brecker plays a searing solo - one of my most favourite of all on the sax.

What I want to let you know is that this album, which has been on my wish list for years, is always a pricey one and almost never found on discogs. I fell madly in love with a few songs from Full Circle with lots of wonderful #percussion by Alejandro Neciosup Acuna, Walfredo De Los Reyes and Don Alias, edited and performed in Jazz Latin Fusion. I first heard them on You Tube, these few awesome songs were uploaded by a best friend and brother, Dean a.k.a. "A Jazz Man Dean", obrigado ♪ ♫ 🎹
This album is one of my jewels in my record collection, as well as these killers below:

Stone Alliance is a newly re-formed group of three well-known musicians who are currently organizing world tours and new recordings. Stone Alliance is dedicated to the creative force in many styles of music including jazz, Afro-Cuban, rock and pop.
The roots of Stone Alliance began in 1964 when Gene Perla joined the Los Muchachos of Boston, of which Don Alias was a member. Later, in New York City, Gene and Don joined Nina Simone and then Elvin Jones. Through their many "loft" rehearsals, they met saxophonist Steve Grossman and, with him, established the first Stone Alliance.

Miles Dewey Davis III (May 26, 1926 – September 28, 1991) was an American trumpeter, bandleader, and composer. He is among the most influential and acclaimed figures in the history of jazz and 20th-century music. Davis adopted a variety of musical directions in a five-decade career that kept him at the forefront of many major stylistic developments in jazz.
Miles Davis’ On The Corner recently turned 50 and with each decade, its space age funk has only become more influential to generations of jazz, electronic, post-punk. The new vinyl release Turnaround cherry picks four stellar cuts from the celebrated expanded project The Complete On The Corner Sessions released in 2007 that collected key recordings captured before and after that release. The tracks featured his new band including Michael Henderson on bass, Al Foster on drums and Mtume on percussion plus rotating appearances by the likes of Herbie Hancock, Dave Liebman and Bennie Maupin. Featuring an adaptation of the celebrated Corky McCoy cover of cartoon characters in pink, complemented by the limited edition sky blue vinyl, this marks the first time this material will be widely available on vinyl.

David Liebman (born September 4, 1946) is an American saxophonist, flautist and jazz educator. He is known for his innovative lines and use of atonality. He was a frequent collaborator with pianist Richie Beirach.
David Liebman was born in 1946 into a Jewish family in Brooklyn, New York. As a child in 1949, he contracted polio. He began classical piano lessons at the age of nine and saxophone by twelve. His interest in jazz was sparked by seeing John Coltrane perform live in New York City clubs such as Birdland, the Village Vanguard and the Half Note. Throughout high school and college, Liebman pursued his jazz interest by studying with Joe Allard, Lennie Tristano, and Charles Lloyd. Upon graduation from New York University (with a degree in American history), he began to seriously devote himself to the full-time pursuit of being a jazz artist.

Yesterday I posted an album by Steve Grossman, where I wrote that he was part of the trio #StoneAlliance with percussionist Don Alias and bassist Gene Perla in the late 1970s, and that this group had released four albums in that period, including this one with the Brazilian trumpeter #MárcioMontarroyos.
Stone Alliance was a newly formed group of three well-known musicians who organized world tours and new recordings. Stone Alliance was dedicated to the creative force in many styles of music including jazz, Afro-Cuban, rock, and pop.
Márcio Montarroyos (8 July 1948 – 12 December 2007) was a Brazilian jazz trumpet player.
Starting his studies with classical piano, he later went to trumpet and jazz. In the 1970s, he traveled to the US to study at Berklee School of Music. In 1988, the Swiss TV invited Montarroyos to produce two one-hour concerts together with the German guitar player Sigi Schwab, bassist Marc Egan, percussionist Freddie Santiago and drummer Guillermo Marchena. In 1992, the German TV network ZDF invited him, together with Sigi Schwab, to play live concert. In the same year both artists played at the Munich Studio 2000+2

This is an album of great virtuosity which I believe would be enjoyed even by the most vociferous detractor from so-called 'new' directions in music. The attributes of these men need no elaboration here. This is adventurous, exciting, innovative and accessible, all at the same time.
Steve Grossman (born January 18, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York City; died in Glen Cove, N.Y., August 13, 2020) is a jazz saxophonist who started in jazz fusion, but is most known for hard bop. He performed & recorded with #MilesDavis and Elvin Jones.
His first record 'ome Shapes To Come'was released in 1974.
Gene Perla (born March 1, 1940) is an American jazz bassist. In 1975 he started the band Stone Alliance with Don Alias and Steve Grossman. Also in the 1970s he founded PM Records ('PM' for Perla Music), which released albums by Steve Grossman, Elvin Jones, Pat LaBarbera, and Dave Liebman. He has taught at Lehigh University and the New School of Jazz & Contemporary Music.
Charles 'Don'Alias (December 25, 1939 – March 28, 2006) was an American jazz percussionist. Alias was best known for playing congas and other hand drums. He was, however, a capable drum kit performer, for example, Alias played drums on the song 'Miles Runs the Voodoo Down' from trumpeter Miles Davis's album Bitches Brew (1969) when neither Lenny White nor #JackDeJohnette was able to play the marching band-inspired rhythm requested by Davis.

Stone Alliance is a newly re-formed group of three well-known musicians.
The trio went to Chile for a 15 day U. S. State Department tour that extended into a six month South American adventure. Following a European tour, the group broke up but was soon reformed by Don and Gene. Other members included keyboardists, Mark Gray, Kenny Kirkland, and Kenny Werner, and saxophonists Gerry Bergonzi and Bob Mintzer. After a long hiatus, Stone Alliance is back as a power trio featuring Don, Gene and guitarist Mitch Stein.
