Went back to the Carlsberg Brewery in Northampton with a longer lens. Took a few snaps of this guy. He made this gesture for a second - I would love to know what he just remembered!

Winding up the year with an early walk down to Empress Falls, where we bumped into Ron - a neighbour. We got to chatting & got so distracted that I never noticed the camera bag whilst setting up the shot. Doh!

I captured this image at 'Donna Nook' a Linc Wildlife Trust Reserve on the North Lincolnshire Coast. A colony of Grey Seals arrive every year around October to give birth to pups. This is my first attempt to photograph wild seals.
Thank you for looking, happy to receive feedback.
EDIT (05/06/11): although not my usual M.O., i don't care, I am bumping this up, 'cause i love it so much, and it deserves to be seen. plus, it's just damn funny, and a good way to bring in the weekend. w00t!
our pumpkin didn't get a single vote in the pumpkin carving contest.
*pout*
i thought it was pretty good for a team of two that only had about an hour to conceptualize AND carve a pumpkin with limited tools.

A trade-off of having spectacular scenery so easily accessible through most of the USA is you don't know where the train is. Well, we didn't anyway! So, all we could do was sit and hope one came.
We probably spent around an hour or so sitting up on a hill at Celilo on the Columbia River in Oregon, watching cars and trucks on the I84 go from A to B (we even saw a Fosters truck!) lying on the bottom of a grassy hill under the lovely mid-spring sun, quite therapeutic actually, with Summer Breeze from the Isley Brothers playing softly.
Quite relaxing, to say the least, until one word breaks the silence; "HEADLIGHT!" So, armed with my 70-200mm, I frantically climbed up the steep hill and 100m run to where Lewis was standing. Only barely making all to notice that 70mm was too much! So, in a panic, I decided whether it was "a vertical or landscape"; I settled on both. It's not overly bad as I once thought 2 months later.
But back to train itself! UP's 3020, 5711, 8504 and 7023 lead the long manifest with 7761 & 7617 giving the train a shove mid consist work from Portland to North Platte. In the background, a BNSF manifest can be seen sitting in Wishram Yard, waiting for the crew to eventually reach Pascoe.
I've been told SD70ACe-T4's make for a nice catch upfront...

Damn I can't believe I did it again. Yesterday I "tried" to get out to shoot. Of course it started raining after 1 shot and my clients kept calling (I hate that! ;o). This is the shot. If you are wondering about the processing... it's because I had the ISO set to 6400, arrrrrgh!
