Arctic Freeze Oakville Panorama
Bitterly cold but beautiful morning before sunrise. Learned how to merge photos. Thanks for the challenge!

Technical: One Shot Imagine that it is the last frame on a roll of film, and you have to nail it. For this challenge only take one shot. No deleting, no 2nd shot. The honor system is in play.
So one shot, but some processing after to suppress the fisheye effect and ensure the BW conversion. The sky wad deep blue and south (and sun) was on the upper part of the image. This leads to the natural whiter aspect on the top.

This weeks Dogwood Challenge required taking just one shot - good, bad or ugly. I wanted to try a shot that I don't normally do an use the high ISO feature.
I loved this challenge. The idea was there is only one shot left on a roll of film, no do overs. What better than shooting out of a car, in traffic, to guarantee you only have one chance to get the shot.

Technical one shot, yeah if that was my last shot on a roll of film, I would be going mad, think it focused on a single white dot rather than the Snowdrop flowers.

Week 8 – Technical - One Shot
Lion's Tail
The brief for this week was as follows;

For this week I looked close to home for a shot due to workload. After wandering around the garden for a few days I found a subject and waited until I got the late afternoon light I was after for my capture.
This succulent is known by many names including Foxtail, Swans's Neck, Elephant's trunk, Century plant, Dragon tree and many others. However it's probably most well know as Lion's Tail. It's scientific name is Agave attenuate and it's extremely hardy and loves full Sun. They flower after about 10 years or so but these are only about half that age.
I love the patterns created by the shape of the leaves and the texture on their surface. The late afternoon sun has added a really nice soft glow, especially on the backs of some of the leaves.
I had a rather hard time with this week's challenge, because the only zoom I have is a 150-600mm lens, which wasn't really usable for any of my ideas I've planned. Finally my subject came to be an abstract steel statue.

I had some ideas for this week but finally I choose to do something natural and simpler. CC welcome!
This photo is being used for week 8 of the Dogwood 2017 photography challenge. The challenge was "Technical: One Shot", essentially a challenge to imagine you are on the last shot on a roll of film and have to nail it. In this shot, I think I should have made the DoF a little deeper, but overall, I like the way it turned out.

Dogwood week 8: One Shot.
This is the new house that me and my wife are buying. The plan was to shoot this with the self-timer, so I could include myself in the photo alongside her.
I started to hurry though as some snow was starting to fall on the front of the lens. So I checked my settings, all looked well, and I pressed the shutter... immediately triggering the shot.
I had forgotten to switch the camera to self-timer mode. Oh well...
I did some follow-up shooting though.
All CC appreciated.
Running a little late with my Pano for last week and whilst this doesn't look like a typical pano this is a very, very narrow tunnel and is 7 photos stitched in Lightroom CC. Old Helensburgh train station an hour south of Sydney.
Taken with SMC Takumar 35 f/3.5.

I went to Sydney for the day, and what better place to attempt a stiched panorama? I only had my P&S camera with me, but was quite pleased with how it came out. And I learnt something new with PS.
