I was standing peeling a hard boiled egg, when this idea came to me. I thought I would try this shot to see how the different textures would play against each other.
I had a full SD card and I deleted 1 RAW file from it. I tried dropping the egg into the flour a couple of different times to get a nice texture on the flour before I took the shot. I cropped this, changed the lens profile, changed it to b&w and boosted the contrast.

Week 8 Technical
Imagine that it is the last frame on a roll of film, and you have to nail it. For this challenge only take one shot. No deleting, no 2nd shot. The honor system is in play.
Au lendemain du verglas tombé sur la ville de Québec dans la nuit de vendredi à samedi, ces femmes semblaient lire un livre très triste.

Following the ice storm falled on Quebec City during the night of Friday to Saturday, these women seemed to be reading a very sad book.

Week 8 One shot. As I try to do this whole challenge on the streets - there is often just one shot to take. This one is beside a soccer stadium in Amsterdam. CC always welcome.
Dogwood52/8 ~ One Shot (Technical)
For this week's challenge we had to Imagine that it is the last frame on a roll of film, and we had to nail it. For this challenge only take one shot. No deleting, no 2nd shot.
Quick poll*: how many people have wrinkly feet? I think they're super cute. My feet are smooth on the bottom, so I am not that cute.
More to the point, this shot is for the Dogwood theme "One Shot" (and it really was!) and the 52 Weeks: 2017 Edition theme "High Key." For One Shot, the idea was to pretend like you're on your last shot on a film camera: no do-overs. Lots of prep, no test shots.
High Key refers to lighting that is quite uniform and free from shadows. In a lot of interpretations, it also involves light colours so that the image doesn't have a lot of contrast, though I don't think that's part of the "official" definition. I tried to encompass both, but not blow out the image. Maybe you like feet, maybe you don't, but I think it's a successful high key shot.
*I understand and accept that no one will answer my poll.

Week 8 – Technical - One Shot
Lion's Tail
The brief for this week was as follows;
Technical – One Shot: Imagine that it is the last frame on a roll of film, and you have to nail it. For this challenge only take one shot. No deleting, no 2nd shot. The honor system is in play.
For this week I looked close to home for a shot due to workload. After wandering around the garden for a few days I found a subject and waited until I got the late afternoon light I was after for my capture.
This succulent is known by many names including Foxtail, Swans's Neck, Elephant's trunk, Century plant, Dragon tree and many others. However it's probably most well know as Lion's Tail. It's scientific name is Agave attenuate and it's extremely hardy and loves full Sun. They flower after about 10 years or so but these are only about half that age.
I love the patterns created by the shape of the leaves and the texture on their surface. The late afternoon sun has added a really nice soft glow, especially on the backs of some of the leaves.
Oh my goodness, only taking one shot was hard! I am the type of person who takes 20 or 30 shots and then goes through them on the computer to see what I like best. CC always welcome!!

The image is a little fuzzy, due to camera shake I think. I did some burning in Photoshop, since you could do that with film. That helped with some areas in the greenery that were too bright, but not with the white sky at the upper left corner of the image. That's the only thing I'm really unhappy about in this photo.

Here is my ONE, AND ONLY ONE shot. I left my family eating dinner so I could run up the street to capture this photo of the sun setting in an open field.
CC welcome
the one-shot photo, THE photo you want to take, but it's the last photo on your roll ... well, I definitely wanted to take the Alamo church entrance at night, and this is the result ..

Change of Plans ...
Technical: Only One Shot (no cheating)
When your carefully planned shot goes terribly wrong, sometimes you just have to roll with it! I drove 30 minutes to one of my favorite sunset spots for my "only one shot" photo on the way to an appointment. At the last minute, my appointment was moved up, so I had to leave early, which meant taking my shot 15 minutes before sunset, before the colors reached the sky. As a result, I had to change the direction of the shot, and therefore, the subject. When I pulled out my camera, I had brought the wrong lens. Seriously! Then, I lost my lens cap. Despite all this, I took my one shot, only one, before sunset, of an unplanned subject, with the wrong lens that now does not have a cap! So, here it is ... my one shot from the last frame on my "film!"

Dogwood2017Week8
I had been trying to get a good shot of this Kingfisher for awhile. I found him perched on a branch down by the lake. I said stay right there. He did. I got my one shot. I edited my photo by cropping it in, adjusting the colors, and put a nice double frame around it.

Dogwood2017Week8 - Pretend it's your last shot on a roll of film Taken on my cell phone as I wasn't expecting to get a photo. All I did was crop it. The pelican was hunting for food around the pier at Naples, Florida when I was there on vacation.
Week 8: One Shot. Bonus shot - Sometimes you get lucky and there is one extra shot left. :)
Was very unhappy with my original one shot. So, tried one extra shot. I like this one.
Digital cameras spoil us. On any other day I would have worked more on the lighting and focus by taking several shots.

I was looking for birds or squirrels, and looked up through the brush and Bambi was staring back at me.
