Artistic: Candy Use the inspiration of candy but you can't use candy in the scene
I don't normally use these detergent pods in my home but for the challenge I thought it would be a good reminder that children often mistake these colorful, bright and whimsical pods as candy.

Week 6 Artistic: Candy. We have a great toboggan hill in our neighbourhood. I couldn't resist this "Candy that is not Candy" photo for this week's challenge. Too bad I only had my phone to snap this sneaky shot. #dogwood2017 #dogwood2017Week6.
Take a picture of candy without candy.
Originally I wanted to do something very colorful, and I did take a bunch of shots with her in very bright colors and contrasty. But when she gave me this "over my dead body" face, I had to chose this one and make in moody and black and white. Try taking that candy away from this girl!
Like many people I am suffering the results of eating far too many sweet things over Christmas & have piled on the pounds.
Dogwood 52/#6 ~ Candy (artistic)
The artistic inspiration this week is candy. Since this is the advanced challenge... candy can't actually be used in the scene.
For this challenge I used candy/sweet wrappers and radial blurs/distorts in Photoshop as below, in case you want to give it a try...
1. Import an image into Photoshop
2. Go to Filter>Pixelate>Mezzotint: Short Lines
3. Go to Filter>Blur>Radial Blur: 100%, Zoom, and Best.
4. Hit Ctrl or Command+F to duplicate the filter (VERY IMPORTANT STEP) until you are happy with the result.
5. Duplicate the layer
6. Go to Filter>Distort>Twirl: 80 or -80 (top layer only) Changing this number makes some incredible twirls.
7. Duplicate background layer.
8. Go to Filter>Distort>Twirl: Opposite of step 6 (bottom Layer)
9. Set the top layer's blending mode to "Lighten" (or try other blending modes for different effects)
10.Merge the layers and save

Week 6 Artistic Candy
Dogwood2017Week6 CC Always Welcome
Enjoying a relaxing Sunday by working on the crossword puzzle that came in the Sunday paper. Having my coffee and a snack.
For Week 6 of my 52, I've used the Dogwood theme of Candy to make what I think is a pretty creepy self-portrait. This one did not come easily.
Candy without the candy ... hmmm but when I saw the wraps of the old fashioned candy, I got this idea of taking a photo of the wrap with its flashy colors, and make it very pop-arty
Inspiration artistique: Bonbon mais sans autorisation d'en utiliser... Pas une image très jolie mais elle respecte le thème de la semaine.
Artistic inspiration: candy. Since this is the advanced challenge, can't use candy in the scene. Not a nice picture but in respect with the theme.

Extremely heavy time loads with work at the moment so had to rush this one together to meet the deadline.
Not happy that I am struggling to squeeze in the challenge after only 6 weeks but hopefully there are better times ahead but for now work is getting in the way.
A bokeh shape made with a cutout paper. There were no good lights to shoot at, and the weather didn't help to go outside...
