GoldenHour
The Story: The Sky Above. I wonder what he was looking at. Use your imagination. I spotted him on the wire when I was out looking for GoldenHour ideas. I love how the setting sun was shining on his belly
My middle son gets in on the photo challenge this week! Since I have no flash or light setup, I opened the blinds on a couple of windows and tried to get the loop effect using natural light.

I had to research what loop lighting was and it looked pretty easy according to the numerous YouTube videos I watched, however it wasn't that easy. Still not sure I got it, but it looks like I may have gotten a little loop lol.
My daughter was my subject for this weeks challenge.

Dogwood week 17: Loop lighting.
I had not really given much thought to specific lighting techniques. My approach so far has been just trial and error. So it was pretty interesting to tackle a very specific lighting technique. I think I'm definitely going to make more use of it in the future.
Many thanks to my model.

Very makeshift - no lights, and no one to pose for me. Had to use a desk lamp, a torch and a stuffed duck! Not my favourite week.

"Strider"
Had an inspiration and decided to tackle my one remaining challenge to catch up using the bust of Aragorn as Strider from the Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring film. Plus my iPhone torch as a light :)
Taken using my nifty fifty at f/3.2.
CC welcome

Dogwood 52 Week Photo Challenge. WEEK 17: Technical: Loop Lighting. As a former stage lighting technician, then sculpting with light (rather than just pointing them in the perceived right direction) to create form is important. But here everything has been softened using a reflector. Thank you to my partner, Janice.
