Blumen am Wegrand

Es ist gut langsam zu gehen, damit wir die Blumen am Wegrand sehen.

Flowers along the way

It is good to walk slowly so that we can see the flowers at the wayside.

Greetings from Sweden all lovely friends.

Hello all friends. I miss you and Flickr, but my body still can 't handle the long time in front of the computer.

My mind is happy, it's summer, albeit a little too hot and I love all the wild flowers on the edges of the ditch.

Thank you Cris Buscaglia for your lovely texture.

It's been all about the meadow brown and their love affair with ox-eye daisies on my butterfly walks this week!

We've had lots of rain recently, even hail, so it's nice to remember summer on the Walmendinger Horn, where a 'Flower Path' takes you to the top.

The dog daisies have done really well this year. They do take over a bit, but give a great Spring display

A first of the year sighting of this species for me. This image was taken yesterday on not the nicest of days but who could not be uplifted on seeing one of these tiny beauties.

Wingspan

25 - 31mm

This species occurs in small, compact colonies, and is not a great wanderer, only travelling a couple of hundred metres, from where it emerged.

Ox-eye / dog daisies (marguerites / Leucanthemum) amidst a big field of ferns

Seen during our descent from Salmas Height (a beautiful 'small' lookout mountain near Oberstaufen, Allgäu, Germany).

We had to stop of course to take some photos ... grinning all the time ;))

Wishing you a happy and sunny weekend, wherever you are !!

A spot on a steep slope where this Common Fragrant-orchid (Gymnadenia conopsea) proudly grew was dotted with Oxeye-daisies (Leucanthemum vulgare) but none was too close to obscure or take over the view of the orchid. This image was taken during the visit to the Common back in June. Selsley Common. Gloucestershire; England, UK.

Thank you very much for your visits, comments and favours. I will catch up with your posts though it may take some time.

It's those early mornings....

That is the Norwegian name of this beautiful flower, if I translate it directly 😁

This, whilst poor in several ways by my standards, was one of those 'putting a pro tip into practice' moments. The daisy was sheltered and behind, in a stiff breeze, the grasses were dancing around energetically in fromt of a small pond (can you see the clouds reflected?). Whilst I don't like it when people say "no photoshop" on an image, for the effect at least - there was no photoshop. (sorry)

Hope you like it anyway.

Who says winter has to be bland? With so many avid gardeners in Melbourne, when I took a walk a few weeks ago on a cool but sunny winter's day, I was delighted by the flowers that were out in profusion.

This included these pretty white ox-eye daisies which had exploded across the bushes in the front garden of an Art Deco bungalow.

Melbourne has been blessed with some beautiful, sunny days this winter, which has made going for a suburban stroll a delight. What surprised me was how many beautiful flowers were in bloom!

I like lots of flowers and don't really have a particular favourite, but at the moment I am really enjoying the dog daisies growing wild at the side of the road.

Thanks for all your views, *** and (critical) kind review :))
