You idiot - turn it the other way!
Snails are very willing workers, although a bit slow. But they are quite cheap to employ, happy to work for lettuce and carrots.
For Macro Mondays theme 'Screw'. The large screw projects just over 3 cm out of the wood, so the image has been cropped to be under 7 cm.
No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.

Hey, the workshop trolley cost only 35 €.
All the other things are old things from the kitchen.
The shelf, the small wooden board is from my son's old baby chair.
And the champagne cooler, as a trash can, I found in the attic.
I will attach a magnetic strip for the spatula tool.
So you can easily find everything when it is needed.
Look what you find so at home and grow it.

I built this ironing anvil, for my wife, out of beech wood.
She needs it to iron out all the corners and edges of her self-sewn clothes

This old abandoned building would look so much cleaner with a fresh coat of paint.
The basic image has been gently overlaid with a texture of a close-up of the flaking paint taken from the back wall.
The storm was intense. The fear of being hit by lightning was present, but the will to take this picture was preponderant. I layed low on the ground with my small tripod and took this long exposure shot. Luckily I got some lightening in the frame and the fisherman stood perfectly still for the 30 seconds of the shot, without even knowing I was there.
Making of, one of the ideas, the inside of one sqaure would fullfill the requirements for size of 75 x 75 mm for Macro Mondays size restriction. Therefore the title.
Other then this, fine dark chocolodad, pralinees from a well know german brand, and not eaten. So close to food fotography, but not some extra calories , not yet eaten.

these lovely skewers are inspired by a Caribbean recipe where king prawns are being previously marinated in oil, lemon juice, chopped dill and soy sauce, then wrapped with lean pancetta and assembled with bunches of dill and plum tomatoes. A true summery delight :)
it is a series of photos taken on one of the foggy mornings in the country side near Lviv, Ukraine.
The fog was so dense that one could see for about 50m only. The well known scenery changes so much that it feels like another place..

Look hard enough and you discover that nothing is ordinary. I collect stone angels; it's one of the many categories of things I like to photograph. Rural Saskatchewan isn't a very good place for them, probably due mostly to economics but perhaps also to demographics.
And I know this isn't stone; it's plaster!
Close enough.
It serves the purpose, and will probably serve it long enough for those who remember the deceased.
Love the broken hand, the do-it-yourself repair job, and that someone was moved to place flowers there. A touching gesture, I thought.

These House Finches were having so much fun feeding on the seeds embedded in the Barrel Cacti flowers in the Desert Garden at the Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens.

I've often mentioned that I work at RONA, which is a Canadian competitor to Home Depot and Lowes.
When I was growing up, our family business (Pleasant View Farms) was engaged in the wholesale and retail sales of farm and landscaping/nursery supplies: hardware, fencing, pesticides, plants, hay/straw for bedding, containers, firewood, seed, clothing, paint and on and on.
In 2002, after many years in various endeavours (museums, teaching English, marketing, I was accepted in the seasonal department at RONA, where I employed the skills and knowledge that I had garnered so many years before at Pleasant View Farms.
If you visit while I'm at RONA, you'll likely find me in the greenhouse and/or garden centre. I also spend a good deal of time on the seasonal hardware floor.
It's just part-time... a day or two a week, but it suits nicely.

The cat shape of the Do-It-Yourself Trikky figure from Kidrobot made me want to paint her like...well...a Domme in a fetish cat suit. C’mon, like you would have done any different, you damned pervs! I used a high gloss medium to give the black and blue parts of the figure a shine to resemble tight latex. The Trikky figures on www.kidrobot.com are completely sold out, making the resale value of this rare little pussy...cat pretty substantial, I would think. Meee-ow, Daddy likes!
