We decided to leave our seats and take to the floor as Dr Alban was performing. A guy sat near us thought we were walking out and agreed that we were doing the right thing :p
Dr Alban was on form, slurring words, repeating "Manchester" again and again and again (to the point where most of the crowd were muttering and mocking him) and making huge assumptions that everybody there knew all his songs and should be singing along. Even I didn't know most of them!

Inspired by the instillation artwork of Joanna Rucklidge, and how she uses her artwork and public space to make social-political / political statements, I decided to design a bin using posca pens to highlight the issue of littering in my area of Derby; littering is harmful to all wildlife and the environment, and during my time in the area there were multiple examples of littering scattered throughout the tunnel, in the car park and within the minimal nature remaining in the area, etc. Because of this, I wanted to create an instillation that would make the public stop and think about their actions. To communicate this message directly I decided to decorate a simple black bin with the phrase “USE ME!” on it, to remind the public the basics of what a bin is for. However, as I was unsure as to who littered, I didn’t know whether they could speak English or not (and I wanted to ensure my message was communicated to all) so I decided to translate my message of “USE ME!” into the languages of: French, German, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Welsh, Scottish, Irish, Romanian and Italian as these are the most popular spoken languages.
After mocking up different bin designs, where I experimented with colour, type face and decoration I decided on keeping the words handwritten and in white, to contrast the black background of the bin. The handwritten white penned words on the (black) bin reminded me of old-fashioned blackboards used in schools. Because of this, I played on the idea of “correct and wrong ‘answers’”, with the ‘answers’ representing the actions of the people, and decorated the bin in brightly coloured ticks and crosses. To emphasise this concept I also decided to add question marks and explanation marks to make the statement more prominent by asking the public: are you going to do the right thing with your litter and bin it, or are you going to harm the environment. I decided to decorate my bin with bright colours (of the ticks and crosses) to break up the white text and to add more dimension and narrative to my work.
Furthermore, I decided to develop this instillation by adding litter inside and scattered around the bin to further ask the public: are you going to do the right thing?
After researching my area thoroughly, I believe that the graffiti and vandalism within the place reasons why some members of the public have decided to litter: the vandalism causes the place to look scruffy, which in turn probably makes people question why they should continue to look after the area when it has already been ruined; I decided to add my collages (which encapsulate the feelings and features of my area) into the background of my instillation to further emphasise this idea. I hope this instillation makes the public think more about their actions, and evokes change in this area of Derby.
Not quite the outcome they intended, one of the cars didn't do the right thing, so the called "stop", but too late to stop the truck smashing up the BMW police cars.

Back in January, 18-year-old Maddi Runkles from was ecstatic when she received her college acceptance letter. She also found out that she was expecting a baby. Because she attends Heritage Academy, a private Christian school in Maryland with a policy stating that “no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of the marriage commitment between a man and a woman,” she thought she'd be doing the right thing by letting school officials know she was pregnant. While the high school senior knew she'd face some type of punishment for violating the policy, she didn't expect the school to ban her from her graduation.
But when Maddi did announce her pregnancy in front of the school, she was not only removed from her position on the school council, but also put on an unofficial suspension for two days and not allowed to walk at her graduation. Facebook / Dave Tabler

I wish you every happiness my Flickr friends. Every day I have moments of awe. My life is not perfect, but there are so many moments in which I am inspired. I hope you have those moments too; I’m sure you do, and more over, I hope you acknowledge them.
Obviously I notice the beauty of nature, but I also notice people being kind to each other, and their genuine smiles. Sometimes I will say out loud, “Thank you God!” It’s my way of acknowledging the gift of God/The Universe/The Collective Unconscious showing me the beauty of life. I am a strong willed person, sometimes fierce about doing the right thing, but I am also compassionate. I think about the example I set in this world, and while I am so far from perfect, I sincerely strive to fill in as many of those gaps before I take my dirt nap on earth and move into the great wide open. I’m grateful that I am “usually” present in my life to see all the world has to offer. I’m especially grateful for all of the fabulous people fate puts in my path.
Have I mentioned lately that I HAVE THE BEST CONTACTS ON FLICKR?!! Well…I DO, I DO, I DO!! I hope you will check them out. I have noticed many of my contacts have connected with each other, and that is so cool to me. The other day I went to the Hellfire Club’s grand opening. Not to scope the place out, but to scope out its owner and proprietor.
Bastian Ricks.
Some say he’s a good guy that’s misunderstood. Some say he’s just out for himself. All seem to think he’s doing the right thing. His club is there for the right reasons. He’s some kind of saint in the guise of a wolf.
I know better. Bastian’s got something up his exquisitely tailored sleeves, something more sinister than even my fellow Resistance members and heroes are willing to realize. He’s a villain. To his heart. But, so many people I know trust him for some crazy reason… Even Elise, who he blatantly drugged, seems to trust him. People are volunteering for his crazy plans.
This means I need to be there when Bastian finally drops the ball. No one else will believe it… but I will. I need to be closer.
So I went to ask Bastian for a job… but he actually beat me to it. This means he really is a dangerous opponent. He knew I was there for that, and he actually asked me before I could open my mouth – well, it helped that I had to quip on him first. Anyway, he wants me to be a bouncer. I suppose, from his vantage, it’s a smart decision. He knows I’ll be loyal, he knows I’m not afraid of fighting, and he knows I’m strong….
He also would probably prefer to keep an eye on me. So yeah, he’s crafty.
Means I’m gonna have to bring my A game.
