Class 197, 197101 at Chester. The unit was about to work some testing runs between Wrexham and Bidston. They have had a few teething problems but TFW are doing the right thing by ensuring all is ok before they enter service. At present this looks like it will be September 2022 with the first introductions on the Conwy Valley service to Blaenau and on the Chester to Liverpool service. The staff are very positive about these units and the standard of comfort they will offer. Much needed additions to the TFW fleet.

Civil disobedience from the Earth Guardians Bay Area at CalSTRS meeting. They performed to Greta Thunberg's powerful speech to the UN put to music. They are afraid of how the climate crisis will affect their lives and the future of the planet.

 

Youth from Earth Guardians Bay Area, Climate Reality Project, and Sunrise Movement - Davis Chapter, joined Fossil Free California and others to pressure CalSTRS to DIVEST FROM FOSSIL FUELS.

This is Bean. I bought him from someone who I guess was overexcited about the kitties and overcommitted. It's not an unusual story. It's very exciting and fun to breed kittycats but it's not really a hobby that pays for itself for most people.

 

She chose to let the kitties not eat. I put out a bowl of food, hoping that she'd get some funds together soon and would be able to keep her babies fed.

 

Alas.

 

So, I don't know what to do in situations like that. I don't want to be a jerk, but...I don't always want to give people like that money only to see them wind up in the same position by doing the same thing that got them there.

 

However, every time I went to check on the kitties, to make sure they were fed, the kittens would come running at me. I can't resist brown kitties, brown eyes, or small pupils. So I was pretty sunk.

 

Adoptylady couldn't resist a shamrock eyed diamond, so that's two kitties. She has money for food, I can only hope she does the right thing.

Civil disobedience from the Earth Guardians Bay Area at CalSTRS meeting. They performed to Greta Thunberg's powerful speech to the UN put to music. They are afraid of how the climate crisis will affect their lives and the future of the planet.

 

Youth from Earth Guardians Bay Area, Climate Reality Project, and Sunrise Movement - Davis Chapter, joined Fossil Free California and others to pressure CalSTRS to DIVEST FROM FOSSIL FUELS.

Recycling and Eco-themed costumed characters help educate youngsters on the importance of living a greener lifestyle. These children will take home super ideas to do the right thing and educate their families.

Americans have but two choices to show the rest of the world that they are responsible, sensible, etc..

 

From outside, I hope you guys will do the right thing.

We found the Vietnamese to be very warm, friendly, hard-working, and smart.

 

The absence of animosity toward Americans came as a surprise in light of the enormous damage the U.S. inflicted on this small country. One Vietnamese explained it thusly: "The Chinese and French set out to control and 'own' the Vietnamese, and they did so for 1,000 years and 100 years respectively. In contrast, the American presence was relatively brief, and it is perceived by the Vietnamese that at least some of the Americans naively believed that they were doing the right thing."

 

If only Americans were half as perceptive and generous. Many Americans are still bitter over losing the war.

 

I reflected back on the reaction of friends and family when we informed them that we were going to travel to Vietnam. Our friends, for the most part, responded enthusiastically. On the other hand, Z's co-workers and my parents were bewildered. "Why on earth would you want to go there?"

 

And then there was one relative who reacted angrily. He views the Vietnamese as the enemy. I told him the war ended a long time ago. He remained belligerent. "Chill" I told him, "Your team lost. It's ancient history. Get over it." But he hasn't, and he probably won't.

 

Upon our arrival in Kuala Lumpur, I spoke with my mother on the phone. She told me she was worried while we were in Vietnam. The same angry relative had convinced her that Vietnam is "infested with al Queda."

 

"He said what!?" I asked increduously.

 

"Yeah, yeah, yeah.. that's what he said."

 

She asked if we were safe.

 

"Safer than you" I replied.
