Instead of making a full helmet for my Steampunk Django cosplay I am using my cavalry slouch hat. One, it's more authentic to the 1966 original film. Secondly, I already have the hat and it saves me the time on constructing the complex dome (which probably wouldn't turn out as well as I would hope.
The helmet patter turned out to be too small and I had to cut open the back and add a spacer. Even so, it's a tight squeeze.
Quentin Tarantino's latest, Django Unchained, playing at the New Beverly was a pretty impressive film. Actually this year was an impressive year at the movies.
