Shortly after getting to Guilderland Center, we see a EB Intermodal with an CSX SD70MAC and CW46AC 699, one of the few locomotives CSX has a "Diversity In Motion" herald along the side of the carbody.

We are but a drop of water in a pool filled with diversity.

Several years ago, I planted two rose trees in the backyard that I found at my local nursery -- they'd been grafted so that half of the roses bloom a deep fuchsia pink, and half are white. Each year, I noticed that some crossing is going on, and there are flowers that are pale pink, and flowers that have fuchsia and white in them. Check out that petal that is totally split in half! Who knew that could happen?!

Everyone is a little bit different, but we are all the same!

Covering 3000 sq km, the Zambezi Delta in Mozambique is one of the most diverse and productive river delta systems in the world. This unique wetland, which is protected under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, features a broad alluvial plain with vast mosaics of grassland, woods, deep swamps and extensive mangroves. Recognised as a global biodiversity conservation hotspot, this remarkable delta is home to a myriad of wildlife, from big mammals such as buffaloes, lions and elephants to water birds such as fish eagles and flamingos, to marine species such as dolphins and freshwater fish. As well as this rich biodiversity, this extraordinary delta not only provides a source of food for Mozambique, but also protects the coast from flooding.

While the Zambezi River Delta is an example of a healthy ecosystem, biological diversity is declining around the world. It is estimated that between 100 and 150 species disappear every day. The International Day for Biological Diversity is held every 22 May to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues such as this. Ratified by 196 nations, the Convention on Biological Diversity is the international legal instrument for the conservation of biological diversity and the sustainable use of its components.

Satellites observing Earth have an important role to play as images can be used to assess the health of important ecosystems and show how they may be changing. This image was captured by the Copernicus Sentinel-2A satellite on 28 September 2016.

First Cymru Wright Eclipse Gemini 2-bodied Volvo B9TL 36212 has recently received this metallic blue-based Pride livery. The scheme is identical to thar carried by First West of England's Alexander Dennis Enviro400-bodied Scania N280UD 36807.

Based at Swansea Ravenhill depot, 36212 is from a batch of 10 (36205-14) that arrived from First West Yorkshire in August 2017 for the Swansea University network of services in exchange for a similar number of 15-plate Wright StreetLite DFs. They've proven to be good workhorses and I can't help but feel that despite being three years older than the StreetLites, First Cymru had the better part of the deal.

It was a beautiful week-end. My 7 months old daughter and I were both enjoying the spring sun in the garden. She was looking at everything around her with amazement: grass, flower, cats, bugs, leaves moving in the breeze. Her little hands were overwhelmed, trying to touch and feel everything. There were no words, nor any need for them: our smiles and shiny eyes were speaking for us. I felt so privileged to share this peaceful moment with her.

In the evening, I put the TV on, and the return to reality was brutal. As a global society, we really live without consideration for this world. Without stepping into extremism, what shocks me the most are all these unnecessary destructive attitudes, that are widely considered as banal and normal. There's some bug that got into your house? Bam, kill it. There's a tree where you wanted a road? Who cares, cut it. My wife, who is a vet, came back from work in the evening. Once again, she had loads of sad stories. Beside the various illnesses and accidents, a man kicked an old man's cat, simply because it was wandering in his garden. The poor old man was crying. The cat was suffocating, its chest being crushed, then died.

Why? Is power such a heady feeling? Why is it so easy considering ourselves superior on some conveniently crafted scale? Is it simply because we can? All I see is arrogance and stupidity. It really makes me sad. I hope we can learn from our mistakes, but I'm doubting it more and more.

Regarding the technical side of this creation, I started to photograph the moon. Then, my wife posed for the main character: she was originally holding to a rope to avoid falling while maintaining the position, then I shot her right arm and leg separately to create the levitation effect. For the underwater part, I went to a lake nearby, put my camera in a fish tank, and used the whole in the water. It worked quite well: I even shot some real fish unexpectedly! Back home, I photographed lots of pieces of fabric, thrown in various ways: I used those to construct the dress, the tentacles and the wildlife.

Thanks a lot for watching, I hope you like it.

I love how wildflowers can come up all different colors in the same area. Even though these weren't planted, they were as lovely as if they had been! The Master Gardener knows what He's doing!

It is the simplest of principles, it is the most difficult of principles.

Let us first be clear on what unity does not mean: it does not mean uniformity. Unity is oneness. Diversity lends strength to any group of people. Unity binds together diverse elements so that, by virtue of their many strengths, the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts.

Me, You and Him.

People these days like to toss the word "Diversity" around, as if it were something new to our planet. I grew up during the early nineteen forties, and one of my favorite toys was the topsy-turvy doll. A gift from my grandmother - to my sister and myself - we spent hours playing with them. Over many decades, and many moves from place to place, the dolls were lost. A thoughtful daughter (Snowshoe Photography Alaska) gifted me with a replacement a few years ago. It brings back fond memories, and a reminder that my family knew about "diversity" before it became a political thing.

Definition of diversity

1: the condition of having or being composed of differing elements : VARIETY especially : the inclusion of different types of people (such as people of different races or cultures) in a group or organization
