Council President Clarke's office has partnered with Wal-Mart Giving for ten years to secure turkeys for Philadelphia seniors. This year's distribution brings the total to 5,000 turkeys distributed through this partnership.

On October 28th, 2016 Monareliefye.org has begun today distributing school bags to 3000 pupils in Yemen’s Amanat al-Asimah, Sana'a and Hodeidah governorates ahead of the new school year.
Our distribution today was carried out in some schools in Zabid area of Hodeidah governorate.
Affected children are supported to return to school as schools are made functional, access and retention of children at school is improved and children are supported to access learning through alternative modalities.
To ensure that children don’t completely miss out on their education, Mona Relief trying to support students with scholastic materials.
Facts about education in Yemen
Millions of children out of school and scores of teachers unpaid - At least two million children, nearly 27 per cent of school-age children are out of school, according to UNICEF. More than 1,690 schools are currently unfit for use due to conflict-related damage, hosting of IDPs or occupation by armed groups. About 2.3 million children need support to access education, including 1.1 million in areas that are acutely affected by conflict. Months of unpaid salaries have aggravated matters. More than 166,000 teachers have had problems receiving their salaries since October 2016 - about 73 per cent of the total number of teachers in Yemen.

Monareliefye.org ground crew delivered orphan students at al-Sadeeq and al-Manar schools 200 school bags in the capital Sana'a.
Our mission today targeted 100 pupils at al-Sadeeq school in Erat Hamdan of Hamdan district of Sana'a with 100 school bags and delivering the remaining pupils at al-Manar School in Wadi Ahmed area another 100 school bags.
Our project today was funded by Kuwaiti donor and NGO's online fundraising campaign.

This class contains 108 pupils who they are in their primary stage. Students here sitting on the ground bc there is no chairs at all. #Yemen
Anyway, from the beginning we noticed that the al-Sedeeq school is a house-like-school, where 1000 pupils studying there daily. All classes have no chairs and all students sitting down on the ground.

Multan, 20-01-2014: Al-Khidmat Foundation Multan distributed winter packages in public schools of Multan. A special distribution ceremony was arranged in that context in which President Al-Khidmat Foundation Multan Dr. Safdar Hashmi was the chief guest. Dr. Hashmi distributed sweaters among 300 deserving students who were very glad to receive the gifts from Al-Khidmat Foundation.
