2016 Classic Belle has been completely deboxed. She is standing, supported by a Kaiser stand, and is holding Chip in her left hand.

Detailed photos of the 2016 Classic Belle 12'' doll. I love her face, and her widow's peak. But her hair is parted into two sections for packaging. After deboxing it is hard to join the sections neatly, especially since the bottom curls are very stiff from hair product. Her glittering yellow ball gown is very beautiful and move accurate from the front, and has a nice round shape when deboxed. But the gathering and satin ribbon decoration are not continued in the back. Unfortunately, this is usual for the gowns on non-LE Belle dolls. Chip is very light, and can be balanced nicely on her gloved hand. But I find his face a bit creepy, rather than cute. Belle has yellow flats once again. Even though she wears flats in the movie, I would rather that the doll wore heels.

First look at the Disney Princess Designer Collection Mulan Doll. I bought her online on release day, September 12, 2011. I received her a week later, so It's been more than a year and a half since I got this doll. But I have not deboxed her until now, and this the first time I am doing a full photoshoot of her. I will photograph her boxed, during her deboxing, and fully deboxed.

My Designer Mulan doll is a limited edition doll that was produced and sold exclusively by the Disney Store, and is numbered 4710 of 6000. She is the title character of the Disney animated feature Mulan (1998). She comes in an acrylic case with a built-in doll stand, with a base that has a golden filigree design, and a golden metallic nameplate. There is also a cardboard cover for the case that I have not photographed here.

She is 11 1/2'' tall, and has the same body as the other Designer Princess dolls, with jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips and knees (internal). She has rubber legs and fixed ankles, with feet angled for high heels.

She has jet black hair wrapped into a beehive hairdo. There is a black rubber band tying the end of the original ponytail, the end of which is neatly tucked into the beehive. There is a long curl that goes from the middle of her forehead to below the front of her neck. After she was deboxed I chose to wrap the curl behind her neck so it wouldn't be so prominent. She has very pale white skin, in fact by far the palest skin of any of the Designer Princess dolls, matching the skin of the Classic Mulan doll. She shares the same face sculpt as the Classic Mulan doll, which hasn't changed since at least 2010 (I don't have any earlier dolls with which to directly compare Designer Mulan), but with glammed up makeup. She has narrow dark brown almond shaped eyes that are glancing towards her left. She has glittering silver eye shadow with blue above it, and thick black eyebrows. She has rooted eyelashes, that are tapered in length from short to long, then at the ends there are very long curved antenna like lashes. She has a small straight nose, full light pink lips in with a closed mouth exaggerated smile. She has very pale pink rouge on her cheeks.

Her two piece gown is made mostly of pink double layered satin. Her bodice consists of ruffled pink organza over pink satin, with pink lacy trim. Around her waist is a very wide deep blue satin sash, with blue jewels embedded. There is a bright red rope belt around her waist, tied into a bow in the front, and the ends of which dangle almost to the floor. The ends of the rope are sewed to the skirt by red thread, which I elected to leave alone. The floor length skirt is entirely of pink satin, is form fitting, and flares at the bottom, and is considerably wider towards the back. Attached to the back of the dress is a very long pink satin train, the top of which is shaped into a fan. It's a shame that most of it, especially the fan part, cannot be seen from the front, nor without deboxing the doll.

She is wearing light pink high heeled shoes, which match the color of her skirt.

Her accessories include gloves, earrings and hair picks. She is wearing full length pink stretch gloves, with light pink jewels embedded. She is wearing stud earrings with round light pink jewels. Finally she has two identical hair picks stuck in her beehive hairdo, decorated with large pink plastic flowers, with embedded clear jewels. The stems of the picks are deep red in color, and extend to stick out the back of her beehive.

Since she had a relatively simple outfit, with nothing underneath her gown, and her form fitting skirt would make it a hassle to remove her from the stand and later to put her back, I decided not to remove her from the doll stand. But since all the factory restraints have been removed from the doll, I consider her to be fully deboxed. The one surprise from deboxing her was the length and extent of her gown's train, as well as the fan design at its top. The overall look of the doll and her outfit matches the original design sketch very closely, except for the beehive hairdo (rather than a round bun), and the lengthening of her front curl. For some reason, her entire body was tilted to the right (her left) in the original packaging. I was glad I could straighten out her body before reboxing her.

Deboxing Tiana. I fixed the broken purse chain by using thread. It took me three tries and about 45 minutes to fix it so it didn't come loose again while posing her with the purse. I left the rubber band that secures the purse chain to her shoulder alone.

I received my Premiere Series Tiana doll on Friday, November 9. I had ordered her online from the Disney Store when she was released last Saturday, November 3, 2018. She is #253 of 4000. She is unusual in that her CoA number is only one greater than the Cart #252 that is on the original shipper label. All the other Premiere Series dolls so far have had an edition number 3 greater than the Cart #. The box and doll are close to perfect, except for a broken chain on her purse. I have read that this is a fairly common defect in the doll. Rather than trying to get a replacement from the Disney Store I think I will try to fix it on my own. She has a beautiful face, but the outfit is my least favorite of the series. The large yellow green cloth flower on her chest is really tacky and distracting, and covers her neck and part of her face. The neon yellow green of the skirt is also too gaudy for me, looks like a tutu, and the floral embroidery on her skirt looks childish. Her shoes are lovely, however. She is the fifth of the six doll series, with Belle being the last release in the US and Canada.

I show the box, and the doll with successive layers of the box removed, until the doll is in clear view. I will debox the doll soon.

In-Store release of Disney Designer Collection Premiere Series merchandise, on Friday September 28, 2018. My local Disney Store had all six of the Designer Princesses on display. Snow White was deboxed, and in a clear plastic display case. The others were in their boxes, and Guests were free to handle the boxes and inspect the dolls up close. They also had several of the ColourPop Designer makeup items for sale. Next to the Designer dolls were items related to them, including jewelry and accessories. The Designer items that were released last week were available for sale here. That included the two LE pin sets, the LE ornament set, the notecard set and wine glass set. I took detailed photos of the Belle and Tiana, the two dolls that I hadn't seen in person yet.

Detailed photos of the Olaf's Frozen Adventure Anna Limited Edition Doll. I got her from my local Disney Store on release day, Tuesday December 12, 2017, along with Elsa. I was the only one waiting for the dolls before the store opened. She is #1234 of 7000, which I think is a really cool number.

I like her a lot more than I thought I would from the stock and leaked photos. I don't think she looks goofy, even with her smirk. But I do think that her in box pose is very awkward. The nicest thing I've discovered about the doll is that she has lavender tights, which compares nicely with the green tights of FF Anna.

I show her in box, and with all the covers removed. I will debox her later. I show her next to my deboxed Frozen Fever Anna doll, who I think is closest to her in design among the Anna LE dolls.

Elsa has been fully deboxed. She is standing, supported by a Kaiser stand.

I got the Anna and Elsa Doll Set for Olaf's Frozen Adventure, from my local Disney Store on Wednesday September 27, 2017. They are in the new Holiday outfits, made of faux suede. Elsa has a cape attached to the back of her dress, and has a fur collar with embedded red jewels. Anna has a jacket that is sewn to her bodice. They both have the new style rubber legs with flat feet. Elsa has flat heeled ice shoes, which are a loose fit. Anna has boots with low heels. Anna is about 1/4 inch taller than Elsa (11 1/2 vs 11 1/4 inches), which looks awkward when they are side by side. They both have new face sculpts, for the first time since their original Classic dolls were introduced in 2013. I like how they look, but I like Elsa more than Anna. The old faces looked younger and cuter, but the new faces are more movie accurate.

Anna's coronation gown is fairly accurate, except for the heavily glittered skirt. I would have preferred the version that was in the Disney Parks Anna Doll Dress Set (2016). The glitter sheds readily, including on her legs, which is hard to get off since the rubbery legs have a sticky surface. However, the glitter does make the skirt stiff so it can keep a full shape with the need for a petticoat. Her pendant necklace is by far the most accurate that has been produced for a 12 inch doll. Her face mold is the same as the one they produced for the OFA 12 inch Anna dolls. Her face paint is very similar, except that they made her freckles more prominent and her rouge is darker. Her hair is also essentially the same as on the OFA doll, except for a prominent white streak. Whereas the pendant looks very good, her crown looks mighty cheap. She has black flats. Her outfit is a definite improvement over the 2014 Deluxe Singing Anna Doll, but I wish she had her old cute face.

I just bought the newly released 12 inch singing dolls from my local Disney Store. They are not yet available online. They had Aurora (as Briar Rose), Belle (in her Winter outfit) and Anna (in her Coronation outfit). They are $19.95 each, and have the same packaging as the Ariel, Cinderella, Elsa, Jasmine and Moana singing dolls released in 2018. They sing for about 15 seconds when you twist their left hand (to your right as you face them). Aurora sings 'Once Upon a Dream' acapella, Belle sings 'Something There' acapella and Anna sings 'Love Is an Open Door' with musical accompaniment.

Deboxing Belle. After I removed the rubber band securing the purse chain to her shoulder, I had to use tape to keep it from slipping off of her shoulder (same as with Ariel's purse). Her dress is tight around her hips and legs, so I had to undo it in the back (as well as the outer skirt) in order to pull out the display stand. It was also hard to put the stand back on her. The bracelets are solid rings, so cannot be removed unless you pop off her hands, which I did not try to do. For some of the last photos, I decided to reverse the purse to show the rose rather than the lion. Also I placed the outer skirt a little to the left of where it was in the box pose, to show off her legs.

I was lucky enough to get Belle at the Disney Store today. There was about 70 people entered in the raffle, the most of any release in the series, so I was surprised and happy that I got picked. She is the sixth and final Premiere Series doll to be released. She is #1132 of 4500. I now have all six of the dolls, all gotten first hand, and am glad that the releases are finally over.

I love Belle's face and hair, her Beast purse and her jewelry, but her dress isn't one of my favorites from this series. My doll has some stains on her face, that look like stray hair product. I will clean them off when I debox her. Some strands of her earrings were stuck in her hair, that I freed when I took all the covers off the doll box.

I received my Premiere Series Tiana doll today. I ordered her online from the Disney Store when she was released last Saturday, November 3, 2018.

I debox Aurora first, and will debox the others soon. Aurora is in her purple and black peasant outfit, with glitter floral design on her skirt. The glitter is well glued and doesn't shed. There is a crimson satin shawl around her arms, and a black satin ribbon in her golden blonde hair. Her straight bangs are a little too long, and partially hide her left eye. Her hair is soft except for her bangs, and end in gentle curls. There is a small red cloth rose with a short green stem. I left the rubberband securing it to her right hand. She has violet eyes glancing to her left, and dark pink lips in an open smile. She is barefoot, with rubber legs and fixed angled feet (as if she is on tip toes). Her left arm, which has the singing switch in her wrist, has a fixed elbow. She is a beautiful and fairly accurate depiction of Briar Rose.

Deboxing the set.

I got the Ariel and Eric 'Kiss the Girl' playset yesterday (Tuesday October 23) from my local Disney Store. It came out in the UK about three weeks ago, and I have been anxiously waiting for it to arrive in the US since then. It is in some stores in the US, but not online in the US ShopDisney site yet. It costs $59.95 (twice as much as the previous Classic Disney Doll playsets that came out this year), and is in a huge box. It has Ariel and Eric in a rowboat, with fishes and Flounder spouting water around them. There is also a Sebastian figure, and two more outfits for Ariel (mermaid and pink). I show the set boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed in various configurations. I put the set in front of the background formed by the inner box, and finally rebox the set.

Ariel is sporting her blue kingdom tour dress, and finally has her hair parted in the correct side of her head (on her left). She also has some heavily gelled bangs on her right side reminiscent of Snow Queen Elsa's crown of bangs.

Eric is in white shirt and blue pants, with black boots. He is remarkable in that he is the first Classic Prince doll to be fully articulated. He has the same body as Li Shang and Flynn Rider of the 2017 Disney Designer Collection limited edition doll sets. So he has a swivel jointed neck, and ball jointed elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. He can also sit without splaying his legs. As with most Prince dolls, he has a smaller head than his Princess, Ariel, which looks strange when they are side by side.

The boat can be separated from the base, consisting of the plastic water and fish. The oars can be separated from the boat. Sebastian can free stand, or can be inserted into peg at the bow of the boat.

This is a great set, and I think is worth the cost. The only problem is to find a place to put it, especially if it is out of the box.

Detailed photos of the Beauty and the Beast Limited Edition Figurine.

I just received the Beauty and the Beast Limited Edition Figurine from the Disney Store, that I ordered online when it was released last Monday. It is still available from the US Disney Store website. It is LE 1100, and cost $199.95.

It is musical and plays a 15 second segment of 'Beauty and the Beast' repeatedly when the key is turned. It is 10 inches high including the base (which is 7 inches in diameter). The Beast is 8 inches tall and Belle is about 7 inches tall. The figures are made of resin. It weighs a hefty 5.5 pounds (2.5 kg), and came in a very large shipping box weighing 12 pounds. It comes with a hand numbered Certificate of Authenticity, mine is 964 of 1100. The same number is written under the base.

It has an excellent paint job and is marvelously detailed. The only exception, unfortunately, is the face of Belle. There is a sharp ridge down the middle of her nose, there are small defects in the paint and mold, and she isn't as accurate a representation of her character as is the Beast. But viewed from a normal distance, she does look very presentable.

I show the box and the figure from all angles. I also compare the figure with the Lenox Belle and Beast porcelain wedding figure.

Minnie with the slipcover and plastic covers off. She is now in clear view from three sides and above. She is attached to the cardboard backing, plastic supports and the built in display stand.

Here are detailed photos of the 2018 Minnie Mouse Rock the Dots Limited Edition Signature Doll. I picked her up in person at my local Disney Store on release day, Monday January 22, 2018, which is also National Polka Dot Day in the US. She is also available online in the US and European Disney Store websites. She is the sixth Signature Minnie doll to be released by the Disney Store, but the first Signature Minnie doll that I have bought for my collection. She is #2405 of 6000.

She is 11 inches tall to the top of her head, or 12 inches to the top of her ears. She has rooted hair and eyelashes, and her ears are covered in her hair. She has a rocker style outfit, with black faux leather jacket, white shirt, red double layer tulle skirt with silver glitter dots, and a red satin underskirt. She is wearing black leggings, and faux suede boots. She had molded white plastic gloves, large red cloth bow, and red plastic rimmed sunglasses. She also has a black purse hanging from her left wrist. She comes in a designer style case, with black plastic base, clear acrylic cover, with a black and white polka dot background. She also comes with a cardboard slipcover.

There was more than a hundred people waiting outside the Disney Store this morning. Fortunately most of them were after the Mickey merchandise, and I got picked in the raffle for Jasmine. Several collectors that I knew were also there, but none of them got picked. I selected the first doll that was handed to me at the register, since she looked perfect. I didn't bring my camera, so no photos from the release. She is #425 of 4000. I show her boxed, and with the inner box taken out and the front viewing window taken off. She is very beautiful and my second most favorite doll from the series. She is first one that I managed to get from the store raffle, so I could take her home on release day. I will debox her tomorrow.

Wedding Ariel has been fully deboxed. She is standing, supported by a Kaiser stand.

The 2017 Disney Classic Doll Collection was released by the Disney Store on the morning of July 18, 2017 online. That was conveniently after the 25% off Friends and Family sale ended. Some of the dolls were also at my local Disney Store the same day. I bought all the new Princess dolls they had, plus Flynn Rider (to keep my Tangled: The Series Rapunzel dolls company). I was most excited to get the new Mulan doll, now in her green dress, and the Wedding Ariel doll. They were all $16.95, but I was able to use my D23 coupon to take 15% off the price (so they were $14.40 plus tax). The remaining 2016 dolls in stock were reduced to $9.99, but I didn't get any of those.

I debox Wedding Ariel, and show her side by side with the original Once Upon a Wedding Ariel doll, which was released in early 2011, and never re-released. This new Wedding Ariel has the new 2017 Ariel base doll, and a simplified version of the 2011 gown. She has a half length aqua green mesh veil, as opposed to the full length veil of the original. The dress is much narrower than the original, and she has white flats rather than heels. In fact, she has flat feet, which is new for Disney Store Princess dolls with rubber legs, and cannot wear heels. This is the new style for all the Disney Store classic Princess dolls, which is too bad as not even Cinderella will have heels. Finally she is missing the corsage that the original had. I have misplaced the corsage of my original doll, which is why she isn't holding one. The original Wedding Ariel is about a 1/4 inch taller than the new one because she is wearing high heels rather than flats. Their actual heights are 11 1/2 versus 11 1/4 inches.

The Belle 12'' doll standing, supported by a Kaiser stand. She is wearing her pink winter outfit, with cape. A bluebird friend is perched on her hand.

Detailed photos of the dolls in the Beauty and the Beast Deluxe Doll Set, deboxed. They include the 1/6 scale Beast, Belle and Gaston dolls, and the Philippe plush. Beast and Belle are in their winter outfits. I show Beast and Belle both with and without their capes. The bluebird figurine is included with Belle when she has her cape on. Beast is not that stable free standing, so I support him with a Kaiser stand for these photos.

I just got the Beauty and the Beast Deluxe Doll Set ($79.95) from my local Disney Store (on Thursday June 30, 2016). The accessory figures look really detailed and well done. In fact, I like Chip better in this set than the one with the new Classic Belle doll. Also the bluebird looks nicer than the one with the new Classic Snow White. Belle and Beast are in their winter outfits. Belle also has her blue peasant outfit and her yellow ball gown. Beast also has his formal outfit. Philippe is way too small, but is a very cute plush. I like this set way better than the ones for Aladdin or Sleeping Beauty.

Cinderella is fully deboxed. She is standing, supported by the included display stand. Here she is in front of her box.

I just received Premiere Series Cinderella from the Disney Store today. I ordered her on release day, Saturday October 13, 2018. She is #1607 of 4400. She arrived in perfect shape. However there was three fingerprints on the inside of the viewing window above her head, that you can see in some of the photos.

Her face and makeup are absolutely gorgeous. I wish her hair was closer to the design sketch. Also there is too much black in the skirt, and the outer tulle reminds me of LE Ursula's skirt. But overall she is very striking, and represents Cinderella very well. I rank her third in this doll series, after Snow White and Jasmine.

The Disney Designer Collection proudly presents our Premiere Series Cinderella Limited Edition Doll, inspired by the fashions of 1950, when elegant gowns graced both red carpets and silver screens as part of the Hollywood dream factory.

Detailed photos of the Rapunzel Limited Edition Maquette by Enesco. She is part of the Walt Disney Archives Collection. She costs $175, half the original cost of the Elsa maquette. I ordered her from the Disney Store on October 3, and received her today (October 12). She was originally announced as LE 5000, to be released in February 2017, but was delayed many months and reduced in edition size. My Rapunzel is 207 of 1200. The number is on the Certificate of Authenticity, as well as under the base of the maquette. She is very pretty, and well painted, although there are a few minor paint flaws. There are some stray paint marks on her face, but they are not glaring errors. Her surface is rougher than that of the Elsa and Anna maquettes in the same series. She isn't as spectacular as the Elsa maquette, but I like her better than the Anna, and am very glad I got her.

I show Rapunzel alone from all angles. I also show her next to the Elsa and Anna maquettes. Rapunzel is 8 3/4 inches high, and with the base is 9 1/2 inches high. This compares to the 9 1/2 inch Anna (10 1/4 with the base), and the 9 1/4 inch Elsa (9 3/4 with the base).

I received my Premiere Series Tiana doll today. I ordered her online from the Disney Store when she was released last Saturday, November 3, 2018.

Holiday Anna is fully deboxed. She is standing, supported by the included display stand.

2016 Classic Ariel has been completely deboxed. She is standing on her fins, supported by a Kaiser stand (not included with the doll). I have left Flounder out of these photos, to see Ariel better.

Detailed photos of the new Classic Ariel doll. I love her face. But most of her hair is very stiff with hair product, so I found it hard to make it neater and fix the stray hairs. Her satin fins are okay, but there is a stained patch (glue?). I like the 2012 Classic Ariel fins better, but these new ones are definitely better than the tulle fins that most recent Classic Ariel dolls have had. Under her glittering tail, she has rubber legs, with fixed angled feet and internal click stop knees. I was going to compare her side by side with last year's Classic Ariel, but I can't find the old Ariel at the moment.

The Belle 12'' doll lying down. She is wearing her pink winter outfit, with her cape off and placed next to her. Her ponytail was a bit messy after taking it out of the hood of the cape, so I combed it to make it as neat as I could. It was curly, and off center. There was a nice pink bow in her hair above the ponytail. The pink and red dress was covered in glitter, which did shed. The half length sleeves had large ruffled cuffs. Belle looks dainty in her pink dress without the cape and hood. I also left out the bluebird in these poses.

Holiday Elsa has been fully deboxed. She is standing, supported by the included display stand.

I was surprised that her dress was about a half inch short of floor length. That is probably so that her ice heels can be seen under her dress, when it is pulled tight against her body. Her dress also has a long train, which is hidden when her cape is behind her. Her velvet dress has a deep red satin lining. Her cape has a sheer blue lining. Her cape flows better than those of Snow Queen or Frozen Fever Elsa because it is made from lighter material, and doesn't have any embroidery.

I will compare OFA Elsa with the other 17 inch Elsa dolls soon.

Detailed photos of the Olaf's Frozen Adventure Elsa Limited Edition Doll. I got her from my local Disney Store on release day, Tuesday December 12, 2017, along with Anna. I was the only one waiting for the dolls before the store opened. She is #3818 of 7000.

I like her very much, both her new face and outfit. But she does have a couple of defects. One is that her hair is a bit messy on top, where part of her crown of bangs going the wrong way. The other is that there is a shallow cut on her forehead, that is especially visible when looking straight on in bright lighting. I think of it as a scar from the fight in the ice castle. The nicest thing I've discovered about the doll is that she has dark blue ice heels.

Unlike the comparable dolls Frozen Fever Elsa and Harrods Snow Queen Elsa, OFA Elsa's cape doesn't have any embroidery. The snowflake and icicle patterns are depicted using glued on silver glitter appliques and clear crystals. Her dress does have considerable use of embroidery. I will call her Holiday Elsa since she is in her Christmas outfit.

Photos of Singing Belle in her original packaging.

I got the new Singing Belle 16 inch doll from my local Disney Store on Thursday August 4, 2016. She is also available online from the US Disney Store website.

She is a very pretty doll and has a nice outfit, but has a rather silly feature of a spinning and light up skirt. The Mrs. Potts figure sings 25 seconds of 'Beauty and the Beast' (10 seconds in Try Me mode). The two features are linked together. You press a button at the top of Mrs. Potts' lid, and brush her against the lower arm of Belle. That starts both the singing by Mrs. Potts and the spinning and light show of Belle's skirt. The skirt is permanently attached to a rotating ring at Belle's waist. The ring is flush with the waist of the doll, so it doesn't protrude and is not noticeable under her outfit when at rest. She has fully articulated legs (including ankle joints, a first for a 16 inch Disney Store singing doll), and fully articulated arms (except that her right arm doesn't have an elbow joint), and ball jointed neck. She has nicely styled hair, a prominent widow's peak and top bun. Her dress is decorated with gold glitter, which does shed quite a bit. Her skirt is separate from her bodice. The bodice is removable, but not the skirt. The skirt, since it rotates 360 degrees, is fully decorated all around, which is a first for a singing Belle doll. She is wearing yellow flats, as is usual. There is a half height stand in the box, which can be used as a makeshift stand after deboxing her. But she isn't too stable in it unless you tie her legs to the top of the stand as she was when packaged. Her skirt is very stiff and floor length, so she can actually free stand, but is a bit wobbly as her leg joints aren't that stiff.

There are Try Me wires that go from the hinge of the box to Mrs. Potts and Belle. The singing and spinning features are activated for about 10 seconds in Try Me mode if you open the front lid far enough. The outer box opens on the side to expose the wires, which can be disconnected from the box. Then they also have to be unplugged from Mrs. Potts and Belle to enable the full length singing and twirling. I was disappointed that the feature stops after only 25 seconds, which is about the length of the songs of the 11'' singing dolls. I would have liked it to last 45 seconds, as with the Singing Rapunzel 16 inch doll.
