A tribute to changing fortunes, and the promise of new opportunities ...
Don’t you just LOVE that scene in the movie where Cinderella is so full of hope and optimism at the prospect of actually attending the ball, so she rushes up to her attic bedroom to start making plans for her dress? Until of course, her step-family intentionally draw her away and back to all those EXTRA chores with their shrill "Cinderella!!!!" calls. Poor Cindy … No wonder her mice and bird friends took it upon themselves to lend a hand.
None the less, that brief moment still celebrates the sheer joy of believing that your greatest wish or desire might JUST be within reach after all.

Even dressed as a maid, the uplifting beauty of this revamped Cinderella Designer doll still shines through brightly.
In my opinion, the 2016 shopDisney 12" Heroes & Villains Cinderella is one of the most accurate doll versions of my favourite fairytale princess; at least with regards to hair and face screening etc.
Due to the fact that I have 3 of this set (she's a firm favourite of mine), some time ago I decided to have a little fun and turn one of them into a play-doll; giving her a head-swap onto a Barbie made-to-move body, thus making her far more posable and versatile.
Even in the plain maid's attire as shown here, this Cindy doll (who I've actually named Clarissa) somehow still looks so full of elegance and grace despite her lack of fancy attire. Her hair is the perfect Cinderella colour, and such nice quality that it styles really well. Plus with her new body, I can be far more creative with the poses she can achieve .
The only problem I have now is that I love this particular scene which I put together so much that I'm reluctant to change Clarissa again ...Oh well, at least I still have one last version of this doll left, hehehe.

A little craft project of mine has finally come together at last :).
Ever since the very first stock photos surfaced of the 2016 shopDisney Designer Heroes & Villains Cinderella and Lady Tremaine set I was thrilled that they'd chosen to recreate Cindys gorgeous pink mouse-made gown, but then gutted about the fact they had then cut it up!!! .... I mean, WHAT?!!! ... Noooooooo.
I have several of the sets myself, which I've been using for a few different Cinderella projects etc, and I had always intended to repair one of the spare pink dresses eventually too. Sadly I had never gotten around to it though, and considered it a 'one-day' project; ie. I'll get around to that ONE DAY. Well, it seems that due to the current global corona crisis, 'one-day' has finally arrived, hehehe.
So here it is, after working tirelessly throughout this last week I have finally repaired Cinderelly's pink mouse-made gown and I absolutely LOVE how it's turned out <3 <3 <3.
I had intended originally to put the dress on the Designer Cinderella doll in with Lady T, but having seen how cute it looks on the mannequin here, I'm now wondering about making its own little display like this in a designer case instead. What do you all think? Either way, I really wish this had been the dress Disney Store had given us with the original Designer release, but never mind, I guess you cant win em all and I got one in the end.
This does make me want Disney to release a 17" LE version of pink dress Cindy even more though .... If only; sigh <3 <3 <3.

I'm super excited to follow the adventures of the new Toy Story 4 characters, and I'm LOVING all the merchandise available for the film ... Most especially all the new TOYS, they're just SOOOO photogenic <3 <3 <3.
Yes, I do realise I'm a big kid, hehehe.
Anyway .... The new shopDisney talking Bo Peep doll is really good value for money in my opinion, and I love the adorable talking Forky: he's a must have too. I do wish there was more Bunny and Ducky merch, but hopefully that'll change in time.
This new Toy Story installment certainly has a lot to live up to, lets just HOPE it doesn't disappoint, hey ;).

Disney Store Live Action Beauty and The Beast Film Collection Beast and Belle Doll. ✨💛🌹
Tale as old as time ....
I couldn't resist making a few MUCH needed improvements to the shopDisney Platinum Beauty and the Beast set which I got for Christmas, and now THIS is almost the PERFECT set which I'd always dreamed of <3.
Firstly, I had to sort those awful Medusa style curls Belle's hair was given. I dunno who decided to give her that hairstyle in the first place, but I'm not sure they'd ever actually watched the movie, hehehe. As she has soooo much hair though it was certainly a challenge to style it in an updo (I didn't want to cut it, so even though it was incredibly long I just had to work with what she had). Anyway, I think the result is much more reminiscent of Belle's hair in this iconic scene in the film.
My next modification was the addition of Beast holding Lumiere. The way his hands were moulded just screamed out for an accessory and this Park exclusive ornament was the perfect scale to give him that extra platinum set edge.
Finally, I gave Belle her own rose to add a splash of colour amidst the mass of her HUGE yellow gown. Plus it seemed only fair that she got an accesory seeing as Beast now has one, hehehe.
So here they are, my Belle and Beast Platinum set all finished off and looking utterly stunning <3 <3 <3.
In case you were wondering, they've now gone back in their box again on display, exactly like this, and I've gotta say they're one of my faves in my collection.
Anyway, I hope you like my little mods and changes; and even if you dont, I dont particularly care because I LOVE 'em, hehehe <3.

Oh, it's a beautiful dress! Did you ever see such a beautiful dress? ...
As a long time doll fan and collector, it would've been a terrible oversight on my part had I not included the amazing 17" Saks Cinderella Limited Edition doll as a part of my Cinderella 70 Challenge. … So here she is!
Despite a few very minor niggly flaws in her design she is undeniably gorgeous; and the closest Disney have come to creating a film accurate version of my favourite fairytale princess ... I mean, look at the volume and detail on the skirt, it's simply — STUNNING <3 <3 <3.
So, I decided to give Saks Cindy a brief taste of freedom from her box for a brand new photo-shoot, which also features my custom (never before seen) 15" Fairy Godmother doll; who is the perfect scale to accompany Cinderella, and cast her special brand of Bibbidi-Bobbidi magic over this cute little scene which I put together. Aren't they a perfect pair?
I really wish Disney Store had released an official LE Fairy Godmother doll for the 70th anniversary. However as soon as I realised that was not to be, I decided to put together my own ... She actually came out rather well in the end too, don't you think.
Cindy might look a tad distracted and oblivious to her counterpart whilst gazing in awe at the width and splendour of her own gown, but I don't blame her in the slightest. None the less, I'm pretty sure she appreciates Fairy Godmothers presence none the less, hehehe.

A perfect picture of bridal beauty!
It's amazing how a few little changes can make the world of difference, and this shopDisney 17" Limited Edition Cinderella & Prince Charming Platinum Wedding doll set is NO exception.
I actually started working on my planned modifications before the set was even released. Thankfully I had a spare singing doll of the same size which I could use as a model for the sleeves. Yep, that's correct, as you can see from this photo I've removed the gloves and replaced them with sleeves - giving a look slightly closer to that of Cinderella's actual wedding gown. I mean, who wears gloves to their wedding anyway ... It just seemed weird to me, so they had to go.
Though you cant see it here, I am pleased to report that Cindy's hand IS sporting a wedding band under the gloves. Which actually kinda makes it even more strange she was wearing gloves in the first place to be honest ... But anyway, let's move on shall we.
Apart from the sleeves, I've obviously made a wedding bouquet with flowers in suitably Cinderella type colours. I know she didn't have a bouquet in the movie, but it's not like these dolls are THAT accurate anyway, and I thought it was a nice touch for the bride to hold.
A few of the other changes I've made are adding the signature choker to Cindy's neck, and also restyling her fringe so it doesn't have so much of that horrid modern side-swept look to it. I also reworked a few of the curls on top so that they didn't stick up and out quite so far either.
As for Prince Charming; apart from the fact that they've dressed him in an outfit not even close to anything he wore in the movie, the main actual problem is with his hair style - which somehow makes him look even less like his character. Due to the pose here you cant really tell so much, but I have actually attempted to restyle his do. In all honesty however, his actual hairstyle would be impossible to recreate without rerooting a whole new and more accurate hairline. I did the best I could with what he had though, but in the end he's not exactly the focus here is he, hehehe.
Last but not least, I reposed both dolls. I know I harp on about this a LOT, but I'll never understand why the dolls have such lifeless in box poses, when they're actually surprisingly versatile and pose-able. I decided to try something different with the pose of these two however, and I actually love how they turned out. The focus is exactly where it should be, on the blushing bride and her gorgeous gown. In truth, I wasn't that keen on her dress to begin with, but after replacing the gloves with sleeves and reposing Cindy to better advantage I actually think its rather stunning.
So there you have it ... my reworked Cinderella Wedding dolls.
I think this is now my new favourite platinum set ... But I guess that's no great shocker to you all, hehehe ;).

The Midnight Flight!
Although the shopDisney 2014 Designer Fairytale Collection Cinderella & Prince Charming doll set are in NO way movie accurate, they are certainly a lovely interpretation of the characters which still manages to capture the grace and elegance of Cindy's attire with a modern twist.
I actually bought 3 of these sets when it was released (Yes, call me greedy if you must but I just love Cinderella THAT much). Anyway, one of the sets I deboxed years ago for play dolls (I actually named that version Iris, but that's a whole other story). The 2nd set still sits on display mint in box as it arrived, but this week I finally decided it was about time that I did something with the 3rd set.
Initially the intention was simply to debox and get a quick piccy, but not long after they were freed I started to contemplate the notion that it would be much more fun to create a scene for their photoshoot instead; in the spirit of Cinderella fleeing the ball as the clock strikes midnight with Prince Charming in hot pursuit, as you can see here. The only actual modification I've made to the set is adding a proper pair of glass slippers with heels as Cinderella originally came with - wait for it .... FLATS?!?! (shock horror!!!). Thankfully that was a quick fix though, hehehe.
In conclusion, I think my 'Midnight Flight' photo really helps to showcase how lovely this sometimes underappreciated set really is, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do <3 <3 <3

With the Oscars last weekend, what better time to let my Designer Premiere Belle doll strut her stuff along the red carpet.
I really love this series, and for the most part the dolls seem perfectly executed as well. There were however, 2 who I deboxed so I could alter, and as it happens Belle was one of them.
Apart from changing her pose and reducing the size of the flower detail on her hip, the main other change I made was letting her hair down and restyling it to be more in keeping with the original artwork. I actually think she looks far more classy and glamorous like this.
Its such a shame that in far too many instances these Designer dolls deviate from their original art in such key ways, but at least this time it was an easy fix.
