I'm a big Disney fan and just love Vidia from the Disney Fairies franchise. This is my collection of dolls that I've acquired over the past few months.
Back row:
-This is the first doll made of the character and represents how she appeared in the Pixie Hollow book series, so she's a bit different in style from the others. She was sold via the Disney Store and is probably one of the harder Vidia dolls to come by. I was able to grab her for a great deal from an estate sale. Her box was crushed to oblivion and back, but the doll itself was thankfully in mint condition. Her wings are sewn directly to her vest.
-Giochi Preziosi doll, from the "Summer Dream" (or "Sogno D'Estate" in Italian, and "Sommertraum" in German) line. I was able to trade for this Vidia with a doll collector from Germany who was kind enough to pick her up for me. These dolls are very lanky, and I've been told that they share their body sculpts with the GP WinX dolls. She came with a tiny hand mirror and comb, and has very long hair.
-This is the first Jakks Pacific 10" Vidia doll. The prototype in the company's stock photos resembled her character a bit better in my opinion, but her face is still cute. Her wings are held on with velcro attached to her vest.
-Fluttering Disney Store doll; the Disney Store has continued to sell dolls in this style well into 2015 (the time at which I've decided to update this description), though their character selection is now limited to the central characters from their most recent Disney Fairies movies. Repeatedly pressing a button on her back makes her wings flap (The Disney Store also released a nearly identical Vidia doll at a higher price point where this feature worked with the help of batteries). The wings are attacked directly to the doll's back, and her vest is in a halter top style to accommodate this feature. I grabbed this girl on clearance and was able to get her for $4 with free shipping.

-6" single-packed Disney Store doll; I wish the Disney Store still sold their smaller fairies individually, but they've since resolved to selling them in 5-pack sets every time a new movie comes out. This doll was packaged in a little box, while in the previous year, the DS marketed this scale in hard-plastic "lanterns" with flower adornments. The dolls themselves were also a bit more detailed than this one, with longer, fuller hair, and nicer-looking outfits. The Vidia I have has clothes made of shiny polyester, while the original's vest was made of velveteen, and the "feathers" were a bit more detailed.
-4.5" Jakks Pacific doll; This doll is the smallest Vidia I own and may also be my favorite. Jakks did a handful of Vidia dolls in this size, but finding one in her signature outfit may be a bit difficult. I had to track this one down on ebay, as I never saw her on shelves. I like the fact that this one has hard-plastic wings that are directly attached to the doll; it makes her a bit less fragile than the others. This Vidia came with a flower ring (which can be worn by a small child, or used as a belt on the doll) and a "Fast-flying talent" charm.

Vidia: Vidia is a Disney fairy. In the books she is described as a fast-flying-talent fairy; in the films she is called a nature fairy. In the Tinker Bell films she is voiced by Pamela Adlon. She has long black hair, and wears violet.
She is self-centered, and thinks all fairies are not created equal. She prides herself on being the fastest fairy there is, and scoffs at the notion that anyone else – especially a fairy like Tink – is anywhere near her level. Vidia tends to be secretive, keeping extra pixie dust locked in a box hidden under her bed and racing dragonflies when the other fairies aren't looking. She also uses sugary phrases, such as "darling" and "dear" when addressing other fairies, though everyone knows she doesn't mean them. Vidia does not live in the Home Tree and is classified as a loner.
Still, there’s more to Vidia than her prickly exterior. Though she seems cold and unfeeling, Vidia is really a complicated, equivocal misfit who struggles to live in a world where others don't understand her. It is said that she lives in a sour plum tree in Vidia and the Fairy Crown. In the novel she is seen as strong, independent and fearless.

A scene from "Disney Dreams," an amazing musical on board the Disney Wonder. Of the three stage shows we saw on the cruise, this was my favorite show by far (and the other too were quite good).
Disney Concert Hall, Downtown Los Angeles, CA
After several days at Disneyland, it was interesting to see another Disney building. This one is not part of Disneyland but it's the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. Lillian Disney mad the initial contribution towards this Starchitect Frank Gehry designed building. We didn't have much time after our dinner in LA, but I wanted to get a few quick photographs of this architectural masterpiece.

This was our second Disney Cruise. The last one was on the Disney Dream. I took a similar shot of it's lobby here: www.flickr.com/photos/michaelminella/8340813660/ . This one needed to be a bit wider to incorporate the pumpkin tree, but was basically the same shot.
