What an incredible privilege for me to watch these California Condors. These two, 688 on the top and 700 at the right, are contemporaries, close to being 3-year olds. 700 was being a little aggressive toward 688; most likely this is about dominance. In the end, 688 stood his ground and pretty much forced 700 off the tree in a chaos of flying wings.
Here is an asymmetric image of two woven vases in the living area of my lake house. These show asymmetry by being alike, but different at the same time. The photograph is balanced with a centerline that has two different sized objects on each side. The vases have different sizes, but share the same shape, material, color, pattern, and texture.

The last 25 years of change and transition since the fall of the Berlin Wall in former communist Europe have produced both transition champions and transition laggards. What are the growth prospects for the region in the short term and the longer term? Will income convergence with the advanced countries resume and, if not, why not?
There is widespread consensus on the policies and reforms needed to invigorate growth, yet reforms have stagnated since the mid-2000s. What are the political, social and human capital constraints standing in the way of new reforms and how can these constraints be overcome? What can be done to re-ignite reforms and create a virtuous circle of sustainable growth and greater prosperity?

I loved how this photo turned out, even though white skin burns so easily...
I took a small shoot before I left Finland and packed my boys back to their boxes. It's hard to get these two in one picture. Also, I was reminded of what a joy it is to own white dolls... and I was too lazy to photoshop them properly... Oh well.
