A street side roti seller. Roti or Ruti are made with flour. Most of the time taken at dinner with any kind of vegetable and non-vegetable dishes. Costs around 1/20th of a $ per piece. On an average a person takes three to four at dinner.

A person walking past an abandoned building beside G.T. Road. This kind of abandoned building are rare on G.T. Road as they are prime location for new Apartment Building. Most probably conflict between multiple owner of property is the reason for not being sold till now.

The temple is structured in the dedication to Goddess Lakshmiji (Goddess of Wealth) and her consort Lord Narayan (Vishnuji, the Preserver of the Trimurti) and thus is known as Lakshmi Narayan Mandir. The temple is unique in Northern India due to its white marble, which is of the highest quality from Makarana (Rajasthan), and its five sky touching pinnacles which are adorned with gold.

After the four day festival , the idols are destroyed by immersing them in river.

02385 Howrah Dhanbad AC Double Decker Chhat Puja Special gets ready to depart Howrah railway station behind 6350 HP beast #30205 Howrah WAP 7 in a cool autumn afternoon !

Passengers rushing to get on board while some of them gathering halts related info from the loco pilot can be seen ! Literally I was happy to see a Double Decker train originating from my home junction after a span of 2+ years !

12345 unique numbered Guwahati (GHY) bound Saraighat SF Express cooling heels at New Cooch Behar Railway Station in early morning hours led by Siliguri (SGUJ) based #40360 WDP 4D. Image taken at 04:52 hours in the morning while it has given the scheduled halt there ! Being a rail enthusiast went to capture the rare scene in the crack of dawn (I myself was onboard the train).

 

About Saraighat Express : The Saraighat Express is a daily superfast train which runs between Howrah (Kolkata) and Guwahati (Assam). The train is named after the famous Battle of Saraighat fought between Mughals and Ahom rulers of Assam (Ahom Kingdom) in which Mughals were defeated by the Ahoms. The train belongs to Eastern Railways zone of Indian Railway headquartered at Howrah. Train numbered as 12345/46 and comes under superfast category. Total number of coaches being 24, tatkal scheme is available in this train. The train is usually hauled by WDP 4, WDP 4B or WDP 4D from Siliguri loco shed (SGUJ). Its one of the best train to travel from Assam to Kolkata.

06114 Santragachi Tiruchchirapalli SF Special goes berserk through Sankrail (SEL) led by one of the most unique liveried & endangered WAM 4 locomotive #21266 of Visakhapatnam (VSKP) in its tow ! The train was introduced to control extra rush towards south during holidays ! It stopped running after 3 end to end trips between SRC-TPJ & vice versa ! And this loco is a Ex. Arakkonam (AJJ) now VSKP lolo made by CLW in 1980 ! Still rocking on tracks after 36 years of service on IR.

As we started climbing uphills taking Guwahati Shillong Highway, the chilly wind with torrential showers welcomed us to the rain city of north east India ! Temperature was as well below average due to rain ! Therefore we stopped our car near a tea stall on the highways ! Shot taken from the backyard of that tea stall ! This is the view of Garo Range around Meghalaya full of post monsoon greenery ! Clouds floating in this level gives insane feeling ! Look below the image, a portion of highway can be seen !

12345 Saraighat SF Express skips Dankuni Junction (DKAE) led by customary Siliguri (SGUJ) EMD GT46PAC #20048 in LHF under overcast sky ! Saraighat Express is a Eastern Railway, Howrah Division train from Howrah to Guwahati ! Runs with the maximum load of 24 coaches !

 

About EMD GT46PAC (WDP 4) of Indian Railways : The EMD GT46PAC is a passenger-hauling diesel-electric locomotive with AC electric transmission designed by General Motors Electromotive Division and built by both GM-EMD and under license by Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) of Varanasi, India for Indian Railways as their classes WDP 4, WDP 4B and WDP 4D. The GT46PAC is a passenger version of the previous Indian Railways EMD GT46MAC freight locomotive. The locomotive has a 16-cylinder 710G3B diesel engine with a maximum speed of 904 RPM. The WDP 4 is capable of hauling 24 coach trains at 110–120 KM/H. Presently Siliguri (SGUJ) DLS homes 36 WDP 4 EMD !
