Through the many toils, trials & tribulations of his life, a man who's dedicated himself to making a positive difference to those with disABILITIES.
John, an individual who knows firsthand the struggles with overcoming disABILITIES, has found not that it's the disABILITY that has sometimes slowed him down but rather, other's ignorance of people with special needs that are the true disABILITY.
The world is truly a better (including mine) place with a friend like John.
John is a someone now in need of a new wheelchair as the one he put out so much money (money he did not have) for is not of best quality & has broke. If you know of anyone in the Hudson Valley area of New York (or beyond) who can help make a difference in the life of this very special individual who's helped to make a difference in the lives of others, please drop me a message. Thank you kindly!

Only a few days after breaking his third chair, Ramesh decided to take part in a 3km wheelchair race in the city. With bloodied hands and sweat on his brow Ramesh pushed himself to sixth place against 20 other racers. “Next year I’m going to win this race,” he shouted as he received his finishing medal.
Will you please take a step to help more young people like Ramesh?
When you're learning to walk again after a life-changing injury, every step counts, no matter how small. But sadly, in countries such as Nepal, disabled and injured people struggle to access the care they need and can easily find themselves excluded and forgotten.
Your gift today could go towards providing artificial limbs, walking aids and physiotherapy to disabled young people like Ramesh.

...are many in our society, as in any other country.........,
but far too many special needs children in Brazil, like Laís and Daniele from the Sítio Joaninha, still don’t receive the necessary attention they should be getting for their developmental disabilities. 11-year old Daniele is still waiting for a place in the council’s special education unit for deaf and dumb children so that she can go to school. Luckily, they have caring family members in their cousins Tamiris, Emily and Stefanie, but that still doesn’t exclude the fact that our public health and educational systems are in dire need of reform.
Until then, children like Laís and Daniele will have to make best out of what our new community prevention centre, soon to open in their community, has to offer them. At least they will receive lots of creative stimulus from our youth leaders, surely necessary for their positive development.
NB! - You can follow the young people who are being prepared to work in our new community prevention centres, through the Blog of our Youth Capacity Building Programme, ASAS do Beija-Flor or WINGS of Hummingbird.
