DRS' 88010 'Aurora' and 68004 'Rapid' pass the along the sea wall at Saltcoats with 6M23 from Hunterston to Sellafield. This service is used to move nuclear material from the Hunterston nuclear power stations to Sellafield for processing.
Hunterston in North Ayrshire is home to 2 nuclear power stations - Hunterston A and Hunterston B.
Hunterston A operated between 1964 and 1990 and is in the process of being decommissioned by NDA licensee Magnox Ltd. The decommissioning process is planned to end in 2072 at which point the buildings will be demolished and site cleared.
Hunterston B - operated by EDF Energy - is still active having started operations in 1976. The station has managed to remain operational for longer than initially expected (decommissioning was due to start in 2011), but operations will cease within the next few months with the decommissioning process planned to start no later than the 7th of January 2022.
Within the last decade Hunterston B has gained media attention after it was discovered that the number of fractures in the reactors exceeded the operational limit specified in the safety case. The reactors were shut down while investigations were carried out and a revised safety case submitted to the regulator. Each of the 2 reactors were subsequently restarted in August 2020 and September 2020 respectively.

R is for Rear Window: the classic film directed by one of my favorites, Alfred Hitchcock. A thrilling taste of voyeurism, telephoto lenses, and romance between an invalid photographer and a piece of the Upper East Side's upper crust.
I thought of this shot about ten days ago, and have looked forward to it ever since. I really wanted to have a shot that was clearly inspired by one of my favorite directors and/or films, and I had great success doing it with Lost In Translation. But what sealed the deal with Rear Window was the fact that my stepfather had foot surgery and is in a cast/boot thing for six weeks. Pretty fortuitous ... plus, Jordy already did Psycho (props to him for making it funny and getting away with it), I am not even close to being able to have a scene from The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly, or No Country For Old Men and, well, those covered my favorite films by my favorite directors. I mean, okay. Yeah, I could have done the last two with a lot of time and effort, but it's not my fault the letter 'R' fell on a Monday I had work and two doctors' appointments!
I don't liken myself to Grace Kelly at all, and not just because she's blonde and infinitely more beautiful and royalty, (though those don't help) but because she is much more ladylike and, well, graceful. So ideally, this shot would be without me and in my place, a blonde and/or evidently graceful woman. However, I don't have either of those at my disposal; I was going to use my mother, since it felt a little weird (in theory) to be the Grace Kelly to my stepfather's Jimmy Stewart, but I got over it -- all for art's sake! :)
p.s. It's grainy for the old film feel -- but maybe it would be better without. Any thoughts??
p.p.s. two stills from the original movie: one and two

Eyes are organs of the visual system. They provide organisms vision, the ability to process visual detail, as well as enabling several photo response functions that are independent of vision. Eyes detect light and convert it into electro-chemical impulses in neurons. - Some eye have the power to stop time.

My friend George Tsougrianis, who directed the award winning documentary film Wild Prairie Man, has expressive hands. In early January, he and writer/artist Madonna Hamel were at my house discussing wide ranging ideas about art and life and future projects. I sat back with my camera and a 105mm lens, snapping away, and they both ignored me, as I have trained them to do. Madonna has expressive hands, too, but the angle of light was better when I pointed the camera at George, and this frame jumped out at me when I began sifting through the images to see which ones, if any, were worth processing.
Full disclosure - although the shot was unposed, I decided to go full-studio mode by digitally removing some lighter areas, especially near the edges and corners. I liked the first version, but the graphics of his hands surrounded by black were too compelling to resist. Sort of the opposite of what I did with the grove of trees in a winter-white environment (posted yesterday). The two should look good side by side on the page, I think.

Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie.
The architecture of the tribune, built between 1492 and 1493 at the behest of the Duke of Milan Ludovico il Moro as a mausoleum for his family, is one of the most famous Renaissance creations in Lombardy.
It was the second Italian site after the rock carvings in Val Camonica to be classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, together with the fresco of the Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, which is located in the refectory of the convent.
The Bramante tribune.
The project, although there is no documentary evidence, is traditionally attributed to Bramante, who was the ducal architect in those years and who is mentioned once in the church documents.
Some recent studies also mention Amadeo.
Almost certainly Bramante must have been responsible for the initial project, but he did not follow the actual works, which were probably directed by Giovanni Antonio Amadeo.
According to some scholars, Ludovico intended to undertake a complete renovation of the church, while only the apse was built. However, other episodes of the late 15th century transformations tend to be attributed to Bramante, such as the old sacristy, the small cloister and perhaps the refectory.
Cloister of the Frogs,
because of the bronze frogs that decorate the fountain in the center of the cloister.
Its construction dates back to the end of the fifteenth century, during the years of the reconstruction of the tribune, and is therefore considered part of the same project by Bramante for the tribune.

The classic crime film 'Charade', directed by Stanley Donen in 1963, took its protagonists Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant to many original locations in Paris of the 1960s.
The Théâtre Marigny is located on the Avenue des Champs Élysées in the direct neighbourhood of the garden of the Élysée Palace in the 8th arrondissement. The theatre was the location for the final fight in which Cary Grant rescues Audrey Hepburn from the villain Walter Matthau.
