Este ejemplar de Lavandera, supongo, saltó a la vegetación desde el suelo y solo me dio tiempo de hacerle un par de tomas sin poder verle la cara. Tomada en las marismas del Delta del Ebro.

carpenter ant (Camponotus atriceps) - Los Amigos Biological Station, Madre de Dios, Peru
Even though ants are one of the dominant organisms in the tropics (and the world!), I rarely photograph them. This year however, I changed my ways and spent a bit more time focusing on them than other years. One of these myrmicine subjects was this carpenter ant (Camponotus atriceps) I found perched on a leaf deep in the Peruvian jungle. I don't really know much about this specific species, but I do know that its an incredibly widespread and diverse genus of ants. I remember encountering Camponotus spp during my time working in Borneo (57 species) and I know that I can find members of this species right outside of where I used to live in North Carolina (12 species) and now I can find them in my new home California (28 species). None of those places are as rich in this genus as Peru which boasts an impressive 85 species of Camponotus.

E, come amava ripetere Anaïs Nin, "Andare sulla luna, non è poi così lontano. Il viaggio più lontano è quello dentro noi stessi."

Piano is now on "casters" (i.e. tiny jewellery box cabinet knobs). I am pretty happy with this little detail!
Also, after MANY failed attempts, I finally got the TV to have a working light inside! It involved taking apart a puck light, and drilling a hole in the back for the cord. I still need to cover the rest of the hole (and seal the inside) with black electrical tape, so it stops shining out of the cracks where the plastic pieces fit together. But omg you guys, this has been a struggle FOREVER. Alas, it's also REALLY difficult to photograph. But hopefully you get the idea!
Speaking of lighting, I also FINALLY found the fourth IKEA dioder light strip, which is now set up over the piano. I want to get another set at some point, but for now, I'm pretty happy!

The Statue of the Nile God (Statua del dio Nilo) is an Ancient Roman, likely Hellenistic, marble statue dating from the 2nd to 3rd century A.C.
Nile God
It is located at Piazzetta Nilo, at the start of via Nilo, in the quarter of the same name, and it is this statue that gives all their name. The church of Santa Maria Assunta dei Pignatelli faces the statue, and the Palazzo Panormita is on the north flank. Two blocks mainly east, along Via Benedetto Croce (part of the Decumano Inferiore commonly called Via Spaccanapoli) rises the church of San Domenico.
