In this dirty old part of the city
Where the sun refused to shine
People tell me there ain't no use in tryin'
Now my girl you're so young and pretty
And one thing I know is true
You'll be dead before your time is due, I know
Watch my daddy in bed a-dyin'
Watched his hair been turnin' grey
He's been workin' and slavin' his life away
Oh yes I know it
He's been workin' so hard
(Yeah!) I've been workin' too, baby
(Yeah!) Every night and day
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!)
We gotta get out of this place
If it's the last thing we ever do
We gotta get out of this place
'cause girl, there's a better life for me and you
Now my girl you're so young and pretty
And one thing I know is true, yeah
You'll be dead before your time is due, I know it
Watch my daddy in bed a-dyin'
Watched his hair been turnin' grey, yeah
He's been workin' and slavin' his life away
I know he's been workin' so hard
I've been workin' too, baby
(Yeah!) Every day baby
(Yeah!) Whoa!
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!)
We gotta get out of this place
If it's the last thing we ever do
We gotta get out of this place
Girl, there's a better life for me and you
Somewhere baby, somehow I know it
We gotta get out of this place
If it's the last thing we ever do
We gotta get out of this place
Girl, there's a better life for me and you
Believe me baby
I know it baby
You know it too
taken w/ a digicam circa 2006. i got it in 2013 to take pictures that looked like they were taken in the early-mid 2000s. it's called an elph camera and tbh it is an Elf camera b/c it is remarkably good at taking macros. elf eye view.
tw for semi gross medical info: my battle w/ my voice continues. i have had this crazy rattling noise in my throat when i sing for abt 2 yrs now and it is incredibly frustrating, as singing is one of my favorite things to do in this life. i recently had an ENT put a camera down my nose and into my throat and it showed a metric f-ton of mucus and inflammation from severe allergies....my mind was blown when i realized coughing/clearing my throat/swallowing my gallons of post nasal drop actually made the rattling noise stop, albeit briefly before i get congested again. the other day, a pulmonologist re-diagnosed me with asthma and i learned asthma can cause excessive mucus too. i'm hoping with treatment i can regain control over my voice. at least i'm not 21 and having 24-48 hr fits of sneezing anymore --

Have a nice day
I just found this little gem of a camera in my desk drawers. I think this was my first digital camera!
I remember it was purchased using frequent flyer points back in the early 2000's. Only 3Mp and battery life of about an hour (seriously batteries would just drain so quickly!). Image quality was not very good (none of my 5.5k photos on Flickr were taken with this little device). But it has a compact shape and unlike most cheap cameras, it had metal alloy construction.
The kids got to play with it when they were young and now it's just gathering dust in my drawer. I guess this image is a farewell and immortalisation as it barely works now after a quick test.
I took this photograph a couple of years ago, mainly out of boredom. I was standing at the exact spot where I took it, waiting for a friend who was late. The image itself was insignificant. Other views that are more representative of Sitges, a seaside town close to Barcelona, are also available. It's well-known for its beauty and lively atmosphere. It's also where I used to spend my summers during my childhood and early youth.
I thought it wasn't worth sharing, so I decided to delete it. Then I had an idea: I'd try to reinvent the old postcards people bought when I was a kid. They were, somehow, similar to this shot: loud, overexposed, and of poor quality.
With the arrival of foreign tourists, greetings from... began to appear. Previously, it would have been "Recuerdos desde...", always in Spanish because Catalan was publicly forbidden and restricted to family settings.
They used to bear a stamp of some kind, such as a flag or a town shield.
Those who know the place will immediately realize it's a modern image. Apart from the way people are dressed, you can see buildings that didn't exist at that time.
I suppose those who have never seen anything like this, or who are not reading this explanation, won't like the photograph. Anyway, I had a great time editing it.

This field of Barley next to Loch of Skene isn't far from being ripe. The texture is amazing. I just love the soft look of the fronds.

O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum,
How faithfully you blossom!
Through summer’s heat and winter’s chill
Your leaves are green and blooming still.
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum,
How faithfully you blossom!
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum,
With what delight I see you!
When winter days are dark and drear
You bring us hope for all the year.
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum,
With what delight I see you!
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum,
You bear a joyful message:
That faith and hope shall ever bloom
To bring us light in winter’s gloom.
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum,
You bear a joyful message
loose translation from org
"O Tannenbaum" (German: [oː ˈtanənbaʊm]; "O fir tree", English: O Christmas Tree) is a German Christmas song. Based on a traditional folk song which was unrelated to Christmas, it became associated with the traditional Christmas tree by the middle of the 19th century and sung as a Christmas carol.
