Tucked away in my black apps folder SHEIN is my most used app at the moment. I know ‘fast fashion’ is currently out of fashion…. but SHEIN has been cleverly designed with an infinite scroll feature that allows me to browse though multiple categories of clothing, accessories and homewards with minimal effort. The algorithm contacting suggests different pieces that you may be interested in based on what you’ve clicked into in the past. SHEIN has digified the experience of wandering aimlessly through Penneys and allowing the items to grab your intention. You don’t tell SHEIN what you want, SHEIN shows you what you need.
Top image in Google Search comes from an IEEE item that offers five ways to measure the success of your digital transformation.
Here are the five ways.
1. Your employee’s productivity has gone up. If staff engagement and productivity have improved and employees are able to dedicate their time to more important activities, you know your digitization efforts are proving effective. To ensure you are meeting this goal, determine a way to track employee productivity.
2. You see a return on your investment. Instead of looking solely at your revenue, compare sales before and after the digitization. Consider variables like project costs and shifting economic and market conditions.
3. Your employees have been able to fully adapt to your digital transformation. To measure adaptation, you need a system or process in place to determine if and how your employees are using new software. This tool will help you make decisions about what technologies and systems are bringing value to your organization.
4. Your rate of innovation has improved. The amount of innovation that comes out of your digitization efforts is a good indication that these efforts have been successful. This goes beyond providing new digital products and services — it means “making digital experiences as intuitive and streamlined as possible.”
5. You are reaching a greater number of customers. To understand how many customers you are reaching, you should track how they are finding you online using digital tools, and use this data to make improvements and further boost your retention.

The National Park of Sutjeska welcomes over 100,000 local and international visitors every year. The park’s management requires tourists to hire a guide for any hiking excursion. But there is a lack of physical guides, as well as guides with knowledge of foreign languages.
To solve this issue, a UNDP-Czech Partnership digitalization project offered to digitize tourist content of the National Park and publish it on the SmartGuide application. Well-known Czech traveler Tadeáš Šíma and famous Czech artist Adam Kaspar joined forces to bring attention to the project & the amazing nature of the national park.

On 13th November 2019, ESCP Europe's London Campus hosted an event promoting international-bestselling book ‘The AI Republic: Building the Nexus Between Humans and Intelligent Automation’ published in June 2019.
‘The AI Republic’, co-written by Dr Terence Tse (Professor of Finance and Academic Director of the MSc in Digital Transformation Management & Leadership at ESCP Europe Business School and Co-Founder of Nexus FrontierTech), Dr Mark Esposito and Danny Goh, is for anyone curious about a future shaped by Artificial Intelligence, explaining how we can build a shared space where humans and intelligent automation work together.
During the event, which was attended by many ESCP Europe students, alumni and external guests, Tse and Goh focused on demystifying AI as a life-changing but often threatening technology, and provided examples of how it could serve a purpose in business. They also suggested that artificial intelligence will radically change our lives, just not in the ways we initially imagine (such as massive job elimination).
Tse and Goh emphasised the myths that need to be debunked and the opportunities ahead of us to reform our societies in the light of new AI technologies. Following this line of thinking, they offered certain ideas of career directions in tomorrow’s job market.
The talk was followed by a Q&A session and book signing.
ESCP Europe has developed a strong expertise in the domain of artificial intelligence through its cutting edge research and development of two programmes: MSc in Digital Transformation Management & Leadership and Executive Master in Manufacturing Automation & Digital Transformation.
The School has also supported the Digital Transformation and Innovation Forum organised by the French Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain (CCFGB).
'The AI Republic’ is available in all good book shops and via online retailers (including Amazon), and on Kindle.

The COVID-19 pandemic proved once more the importance of accelerating digital transformation at the global and national levels. This is obvious, especially in conditions of mobility restrictions adopted to reduce the risk of getting infected with the novel coronavirus. Several digital services became immediately in high demand: remote learning, e-trade, e-health, etc. Although Moldova has a developed digital infrastructure (the country’s territory coverage with 4G is 98%), well-placed e-Gov services, an ICT sector (Information and Communication Technology) with accelerated development (7% contribution to the Gross Domestic Product – GDP), the COVID-19 pandemic emphasizes the need of accelerating digital transformation in the country.

We are considering ways that Artificial Intelligence may reshape education. One possible intervention is through a listening AI such as Otter who transcribes conversations set by teachers.
