Artist Statement:

The Listening Root is part of an ongoing series that imagines flora not just as growth, but as witness sentient architecture grown to observe, respond, and hold memory.

Bathed in unseen bioluminescence, the tree emerges from below, glowing at its base like it has tapped into some deep and ancient signal. Its branches rise not chaotically, but deliberately curving in forms that evoke posture, not just photosynthesis.

This piece is a meditation on silent intelligence: the idea that some entities do not move to be seen, but to hear. The tree is not reaching for light. It is listening for something we have forgotten how to name.
