Photograph (dated May 1952) of Home Folks Day, a University of Scranton event held for parents and families of students. Home Folks Day included a parade, ROTC drill demonstration, an address by University president Rev. J. Eugene Gallery, S.J., entertainment by the University Band, Singers, and Players, and an address by Edward Soma, the president of the Student Council. In this photograph, University staff members (including Nan Holland, Angela Scardanaglia, and Nancy Dougherty) welcome parents. This was the second and last Home Folks Day event.

74 students graduated with college degrees at the University of Scranton's January 31, 1943 commencement exercises, held at the Temple Auditorium. Two commencement ceremonies were held in 1943 in order to accommodate accelerated curricula during World War II.
