Das Digitalradio heißt jetzt DAB+ und arbeitet mit einer deutlich moderneren Technik. Die Audiodaten werden nicht mehr im datenintensiven MPEG-Format. sondern bei identischer Klangqualität dazu in viel effizienterer AAC-Komprimierung übertragen. Dadurch lassen sich in den für DAB+ zur Verfügung stehenden Frequenzbändern nahezu doppelt so viele Digitalsender unterbringen.
Ein kurzer Druck auf die „Direktzugriff“-Taste schaltet den CD-Receiver sofort auf „DAB“-Wiedergabe
um. Der Digitaltuner versteht sich selbstverständlich auf den Empfang von digitalen Sendern im DAB/DAB+ Datenformat und den Empfang von analogen UKW-Stationen. auf die er im Bedarfsfall umschaltet.

obsolete already? hopefully not yet, though dab offers some pretty poor quality stations (except this one!). In fact I listen to 6 music a hell of a lot, its a great station, specially Marc Riley and Craig Charles. However their is one thing that lets 6 Music down which is a certain "DJ" by the name of george.... well i don't even want to write it ....

Went to the Moseley Road Baths in Balsall Heath for a Brumtography photo meet.
The Public Library and Baths on Moseley Road, Balsall Heath, form one of many pairings of baths and libraries in Birmingham, England.
The library was opened in 1895, with the baths following in 1907. Made of red brick and terracotta in Edwardian style, the structure is one of only three swimming pools in the country listed at Grade II* status.
The buildings are currently managed by Birmingham City Council, however, the council has announced plans to close the baths in June 2017.
It is a Grade II* Listed Building.

Digital Radio and a Wireless
A DAB 'stereo' transistor radio made in China. The radio is nicely made and has some useful features and is relatively user-friendly, but that volume control on the front has a poor action, is difficult to control easily and will probably be prone to wear and tear far too soon. This radio is mains powered only but it has decent speakers; more recently the same manufacturer has, I believe, reduced the size partly because UK DAB digital radio currently has been savaged for its [alleged} atrocious transmission quality.
My sons and my daughter came to see me today - they gave me a digital radio. I can now listen to BBC Radio 7 and I can record programmes onto an SD card which I can use to burn CDs on the computer and play in the car :-)

Der Kühkopf ist ein 382 Meter hoher Berg im Hunsrück. Er liegt im Koblenzer Stadtteil Karthause im Stadtwald.
Auf seinem Gipfel steht der Fernmeldeturm Koblenz (auch Fernmeldeturm Kühkopf oder Koblenz 10). Der Fernmeldeturm ist nach dem SWR-Sender Koblenz das zweithöchste Bauwerk im Hunsrück und das dritthöchste Bauwerk in Rheinland-Pfalz.
Der Turm wurde 1974 bis 1976 errichtet und befindet sich im Besitz der Deutsche Funkturm GmbH, einer Tochtergesellschaft der Deutschen Telekom AG. Er ist nicht für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich.
Der Turm dient vor allem dem Ausbau des Richtfunknetzes für Telefon- und Datenverbindungen sowie der Übertragung von Fernsehsignalen zwischen den Fernsehstudios und den Fernsehsendern. Des Weiteren ist er Sendestandort für die Mobilfunknetze und bedeutender Einspeisepunkt für das Kabelfernsehen. Die 1985 montierte Spitze des Turms strahlt die Radioprogramme RPR1 und bigFM für die Region Koblenz ab. Seit 2002 wird außerdem Digitalradio über den Sender auf dem Kühkopf verbreitet. 2008 wurde eine neue Antennenanlage auf dem Fernmeldeturm installiert, die die Region Koblenz mit DVB-T Fernsehsignalen versorgt und den Turm dabei um 5,70 Meter auf 260,70 Meter erhöhte
Just got a DAB+ digital radio. The only real improvement is over AM. FM sounds way better than DAB+. What a real shame!

Here is a good looking mono DAB radio, featuring the UK digital radio band together with FM. This was my first digital radio and I bought it at its launch date at the highest price; now it is about £25 cheaper or so, partly because the UK digital radio bands for upgrading as the bit-stream is so low. This set won't be able to capture the new band, but it is just a mono set - fun to use in the kitchen, but 'low-fi' not 'hi-fi', I'm afraid.
