Billy and friend's first recording with new, Martin DX1AE acoustic thru a Apex 435 condenser mic into M-Audio to Power Tracks Pro Audio DAW
Ronnie invited my son'n-law, Bentley, and me over to listen to some tracks he's put to together from various musical collaborations and bands he's been involved with over the years. This includes our former band, Earth Light, which we put together in the early 70s. Also in the mix, were multi-track recordings Ronnie produced my himself on various instruments and some jazz groups he recorded with playing drums, bass and guitar -- but not all at the same time.
Why, Ronnie even has tracks and photos with him and Peter Gannon, founder of PG Music in Victoria, BC, Canada. Founded in 1988 by program creator Dr. Peter Gannon, PG Music has grown to have an international standing. A finalist in the prestigious PC Magazine "Award for Technical Excellence" in 1990 for Band-in-a-Box, and a 1995 Editors Choice Award recipient from Electronic Musician, PG Music now boasts a product line of over 30 distinct products.
Earth Light Club Band played the CPO's Mess two consecutive NYEs and were hired to play four-nights per week at the Totem Lounge after playing their first gig there.
The CPO's Mess President -- who hired the band -- was a Chief Petty Officer 1st Class in the Musician Branch of the RCN. The Totem Lounge at the Army, Navy & Air Force Veteran's Association (AN&A), in the 1970s, was one of Victoria's top nightclubs; second only to The Old Forge where the Brothers Forbes played.
Earth Light held the record for bar-$ales at AN&A pub; in fact, the bands sales' records were held for both top-sales and second-place bar sales. It may be a little known fact that businesses hire bands on their ability for that establishment to make money.
Earth Light was always booked solid year 'round, except for two summer month which they took off to be with their families. It was often difficult for the bands' manager, Billy, to not laugh when potential clients phoned up and ask EL to play their wedding 'next month' -- the band was always booked at least six-month's ahead.
Sure, it's my work's copy, but still...
And, not to brag, but my shiny new Mac Pro arrives in 12 days! (It's just like the 12 days of Christmas around here.)

It seems the quality of the included shock adapter with the Apex435 microphone isn't as good as when mine was purchased in 2012. The only IMC-3s adapters now found online all appear to come only in black which to me isn't as good looking as mine (see image).

Thursday morning we walked around Cedar Hill Golf Course in sub-zero temperatures. It was only sub by one degree but it still counts!
Oddly enough, we saw more people walking the chiptrail (the golf course was closed to to frost) than we normally see on a warm summer's day. Just show you what a hardy breed many Victorians are.
Ronnie, my band partner from back-in-the-day, invited us over for tea and to listen to our latest CD release. Ronnie had to wait for me to deliver the last guitar track for the final mix. Ronnie, as sound engineeer, did a fantastic job. The CD sounds great. Thanks Ronnie.
Installed PTPA DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) into my super computer (4Ghz/8G/8core) and it looks kinda sweet on the LG 25" Split-screen monitor.
Bass added by my friend and former band partner: Ronnie Pugh
Our pal Bill said: "You and Ronnie sure carried Steve on this one."
Yes, for sure. LOL

With the piano roll, I can create and edit drum tracks, midi files, and digital audio synths, all built in. With Mixpad, I had to make drum tracks using outside programs. The one I had was "Drum Station." Compared to this it sounded terrible.
I realize how busy we all are these days but did want to let you know what a great guitar player Gene Wiebe is.
Here's a medley of Guitar Stylings by Eugene Wiebe, Victoria BC Canada in MP3 format from the original CD quality
After finding listening to Eugene Wiebe's two CDs is one of my life's best listening experiences, I googled him and found:
Eugene Wiebe's band (ca.1971), The Eleventh Hour, is featured on the Manitoba Music Museum website.
See Youtube for The Eleventh Hour on Youtube
I've been talking about doing it, and now I've finally upgraded the "DAW" (Digital Audio Workstation) to cakewalk. It can do everything Mixpad could do and a heck of a lot more!
Mixpad was just this. It only was a multi-track mixer. I can't believe all the things I can do with this program.
