It didnt start with gas chambers.
It started with one party controlling the meida.
One party controlling the message.
One party deciding what is truth.
One Party censoring speech and silencing opposition.
One party dividing citizens into "us" and "them" and calling on their supporters to harass them.
It started when good people turned a blind eye and let it happen...
When will we learn from history?
- When?-
If you dont like it... Just leave!
I didnt really have time to plan this photo as the loco was already on the viaduct when I pulled up! I bailed over a stone wall and plonked myself here just in time to capture the train.
The working was 6J37 Carlisle Yard - Chirk Kronospan and was running just under one hour early at this point. Apparently the loco was 60002 but I never did get the number
Today didnt go according to plan at all, started out hoping to shoot Blue Ridge Southern which I did but haze moved in and killed all the light. I decided that if it was cloudy I was atleast going to shoot something new and I knew (thought I knew....) that Great Smokey Mountains was running their newly restored 2-8-0. Upon arrival in Bryson City this is what I found instead.....as the saying goes when life gives you lemons make lemonade.
I didnt walk into the Marquette Hill much when I worked for the IMRL/IC&E. Probably should of done it more. Then when I did, it seems like I picked the worse weather days. An eastbound Mason City train is about to Marquette as they click off the last 4 miles of their trip. The hill leaving Marquette is pretty darn cool. I need to do more with a drone now, but traffic is less and less with traffic going to the CN and UP now days.
Scanned slide from January 1998.
didnt have time to go to the North coast chasing storm Gareth today so stayed near home and visited this favourite local beach.
I didnt do many photos over the weekend it was quite overcast, so some trail work was the next best thing, always nice in the cooler weather.
Didnt really take much notice of butterflies until the start of lockdown, now i just love them! So beatuiful!
tracked this down today, only had a few hours on this 1,didnt really get to clean it up and add more details before i ran out of time but off she goes....
Me "Um Ella, Did you happen to see Saffron in that box?"
Ella "No"
Me "well those clothes are Saffron Freakbaby's didnt they feel a bit snug?"
Ella "Nope they feel Like Magic and Tamborining talent"
It didnt come out exact to the outline, but I ran with the single line connections that were on the original..... couldnt spend long at all as the hot Queensland sun was burning hardcore! ( hence the sun drenched/colourless photo!)
Cheers again Wisky!
Selective colouring. Taken below the cliffs of Flamborough following several nights camping nearby during the heavy summer storms of 2012!! This new parent had recently discarded the eggshell of his new young and was busy bringing in as many sand eels as he could fit in his bill. 12 or possibly 13 was the highest i recorded
Returned to my "second home " last weekend , for those who didnt know I lived and worked in Torquay for bout ten years ,but left 18 years ago ! never felt more relaxed than down by the harbour , but usually on the side you are seeing in this picture ..so this is why this view is a different one for me , also I wasnt into photography then :-)
they didnt even build these tracks lol

Levada do Norte source, deep in the core of the island at the Ribeira da Hortelã.
I was surprised with the amount of water, considering we are at the Summer and it didnt rain for quite a while.

Didnt get a photo of this loco this morning, however I did see it being towed through Grantham en route for scrapping at Newport. Incredibly it was still named as well
I was lucky enough to get this shot of the loco named 'City of York' just south of Houndwood on 29th April 2021 as it cut through some Rapeseed Fields
I didnt have my macro lens with me unfortunately but I had never seen one of these before, they are about 13-15mm long in body and this one was in the middle of a patch of nettles
Nursery web spiders (Pisauridae) is a family of araneomorph spiders first described by Eugène Simon in 1890.[1] They resemble wolf spiders (Lycosidae) except for several key differences. Wolf spiders have two very prominent eyes in addition to the other six, while a nursery web spider's eyes are all about the same size.[2] Additionally, female nursery web spiders carry their egg sacs with their jaws and pedipalps instead of attaching them to their spinnerets as wolf spiders do. When the eggs are about to hatch, a female spider builds a nursery "tent", places her egg sac inside, and stands guard outside, hence the family's common name. Like the wolf spiders, however, the nursery web spiders are roaming hunters that don't use webs for catching prey.
this guy landed in a tree along a causeway to my left. didnt see me and dropped off and went right toward me. very overcast day and too much speed made these fuzzy, but still a nice angle on this guy.

I didnt go a good job last year of getting out much, and I missed some opportunities. I need to make a better effort this season of getting out to chase waterfowl. I was near an area that is known for Wood Ducks being common, and boy did I find them. 2 very large flocks flocks across the ponds. I plan to come back when I have more time and can get into some places with camo and wait them out. This drake cruised close enough to me to make use of some heavy cropping to fill the frame, but the colored leaves reflecting in the water around it was exactly what I was looking for.
I really didnt like Pippi's black mohair i have given her, so she will get a third and final reroot at some time. for the moment she will wear her faveourite wig;-)
I didnt know this event was on today but stumbled across it, it was great fun to watch and the participants were having a great time for sure.
ROG's 37608 rushes through Coleshill Parkway with 5Q94 Northampton EMD to Long Marston unit drag.
We didnt think this would run as it was held at Northampton for welll over 38 minutes - making us think there was an issue with the loco or train.
350263 was the unit.
A leisurely drive to Coleshill Parkway in the miserable drizzle produced this.
she didnt realize what had become of her until it was too late

Like the brush? Go here!
Didnt get it right tbh. But its a very unique shot. It was taken during the Perseid meteor shower and there was a very faint northern light in the background....(at least thats what I think it is)
If you're waiting until you feel talented enough to make it, you'll never make it.
