Diamond Springs was a well known stop on the Santa Fe trail. A mail and stage station were built in 1849. In 1863 a confederate outlaw , Dick Yeager , attacked and burned it. This is part of what remains.
Diamond Beach, Iceland.. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Iceland.. Combining the ocean with ice.. Too cool! Enjoy!

After dropping one of the six engines, TPWs Indiana Job creeps towards the KBS diamond in Sheldon. Since the train was 80 cars today, them working the yard warranted clearance to pull beyond the diamond a few times.
An assortment of diamond coated cutting heads for a Dremel or similar rotary tool. Approximately 2x reproduction ratio. Not as pretty as the carbon crystals I gave my wife but they do, *ahem*, get the job done.

I have over 2000 photos to process (I won't post but a few here) it will take a while however, I wanted to get my first shots up since I got back from Idaho.
Diamond ring effect with a fiery ring around the moon's shadow. Prominence can be seen in the 2 o'clock position.
Great trip there and grueling trip back. Lack of sleep, traffic, and just wanting to be home played a part.

Diamond Beach.. Finally! I've been seeing pictures of this beach for years, and I was finally able to capture this myself.
We went twice in the morning, and each time we had a beautiful sunrise.
It's a special place because it's so iconic, you want to get out of there having taken some great photos, but I can tell you that it's not easy. Given that "all photos have already been taken on this beach"; it's not easy to get out of there with an original photo that would come out of what is usually done. So there is a little pressure there.
Then it's clearly not easy to photograph. You have to manage to juggle the waves (have the right timing to capture a beautiful movement in the water), the other photographers (some don't hesitate to stand right in front of the shot you want to take, or in any case, being in the frame), and the difference in brightness between the clear sky and the foreground which is still dark (at sunrise).
(Note to myself for next time: having Softer ND filters and also Soft grads ND filters, rather than Hard ones, would make it easier to juggle with settings)
These different factors make that the pressure is there, and when I came back from that beach, despite having taken far too many photos, I was not even sure of having 1 picture that was going to meet my expectations...
Luckily in the end I was surprised during the photo editing, there are several photos that I like and that I want to share with you!

Diamond Jökulsárlón Beach is an otherworldly contrast of black sand and dazzling blue ice. Every day, icebergs break off nearby Vatnajökull glacier, journey through the glacier lagoon and eventually drift out to the frigid waters of the North Atlantic.
I initially ignored this particular chunk of ice, since it had a coating of black sand on it’s surface, but when I looked at the image back home, I decided I liked the contrast it provided.

A beautiful sunrise at Diamond Beach, Iceland. It's always pretty funny to fight against the waves to catch the perfect texture of the water. Hope you like it.

A large iceblock was spilled back on the diamond beach in Iceland. This was during a rainy and windy day. But the glacier lagoon and diamond beach are always worth to stop during a trip to Iceland. Such a magical place.

Oahu, HI. This overlook os accessed by a windy road. It started raining right after we arrived and soon Diamond Head would be obscured by mist.

The sun rise at the center of Mt.Fuji on 1st/Jan.
This park is one of the famous Diamond Fuji spot.
今日撮影してきたので太陽は左手になりましたが、
元日には富士山の中心から太陽が昇る
ダイアモンド富士のスポット。
ここまでの道路標識も「ダイアモンド富士」となっています。
ただ、正月は人も車も大混雑するそうなので、
オススメとしては年末のようです。
なお、元日のダイアモンド富士スポットは、
本栖湖の隣の竜ヶ岳、身延山久遠寺、
ちょっと離れて木曽駒ヶ岳などが知られています。
標高が異なるので一概に地図に直線を引けないところが辛い。
