Looking north along the tracks of the abandoned S-Bahn station "München Olympiastadion". Last train was 1988... - 35 years ago...

The station was built especially for the 1972 Summer Olympics held nearby. After the Olympic Games the station was used only if football matches were held at the Olympic Stadium. In 1988 operations ceased finally, since then the station is left for decay - despite being a listed building as part of the Olympic ensemble.

Time is free, but it's priceless. You can't own it, but you can use it. You can't keep it, but you can spend it. Once you've lost it you can never get it back.

The Planetarium Eise Eisinga is a science museum in the city of Franeker in the province of Friesland. At its center is a planetarium that was built by Eise Eisinga between 1774 and 1781. Powered by a pendulum clock, the astronomical clock has displayed the current position of the planets via the ceiling dial since its completion in 1781, making it the oldest working planetarium in the world.

A previously unpublished shot captured in September 2020. I love that we still "dial a number" generations after rotary dial telephones were outdated or out of fashion. Enjoy!

The Prague Astronomical Clock is a medieval astronomical clock located in Prague, on Old Town Square. The clock is located on the south wall of the town hall. The clock is said to have been built by master clockmaker Hanus on 9 October 1410. Legend has it that Hanus had his eyes gouged out to prevent him from reproducing his masterpiece elsewhere. The clock comes to life every hour until 9 p.m.

If you enlarge this photograph you might catch a glimpse of the local superhero doing a quick change in the phonebox. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it's Supertelephonist!

These red telephone boxes are very rare now, but you see plenty of rare things in historical Ross in Tasmania's Midlands. Both these boxes a fully operational (and on standby for superheroes or even a wannbe Dr Who). The box on the left is a fascinating way to tell local history. Open the door, go inside and dial up a story. Did you see the operator looking out at us?

Camargue.

Steampunk is Victorian inspired science fiction, and these pressure dials from a water engine certainly fit the bill, having a Jules Verne or HG Wells feel about them.
