We didn’t really believe the weatherpeople forecasting a beautiful day today as it was raining solidly all day yesterday. But we were wrong in doubting, as it was a very nice day today. We went for a long bike ride with his family and we had such a good time. We stopped a few times for food (no chips, pizza or ice-cream to be seen but it was nice anyway). I was very lucky as I could sit in her bag and watch the world go by…
Our Daily Challenge is: Diagonal
Lucky me had 3 weeks off at Xmas/NY and I was determined to make the most of my time and get out and about as much as possible. One mini adventure took me and the girls over the border to Cardiff Bay. The weather was AY-MAY-zing : the sun was out, the sky was clear blue, just wonderful - lots of opportunities for shadows and reflections. I also managed to bag the rest of my OCA assignment photos, so all in all, a very productive trip.
I was quite pleased with the images I came away with (well, I took nearly 500 ...) - they were typically my abstract shots, nothing ground breaking, although my 50mm got a good outing again and meant I could be a bit more creative with angles and DOF.
The full set is here if anyone is interested.

Here. at Perry Park, in Douglas County, the Dakota hogback skews out from the mountain at about a 45 degree angle. Those of us who studied geology in Colorado (and much of the Rocky Mountain area) are used to finding it parallel to the mountain front. (see below)
I can't find a map or monograph that explains it. Can anyone in the Geology of Colorado and Wyoming group help me out?

I spent three days in Phoenix, attending a lovely wedding and spending an afternoon poolside, looking to shoot something interesting or beautiful.
