The Devourer was first spotted in the outer borders of M.A.N.T.I.S. territories, near planet Guinevere, sector A06. Not much is know about this vessel, but it seems to be some sort of symbiotic relation between the ship itself and a sort of tentacular creature. It attach to ships' hulls with the tentacles and fire energy weapons that cut deep inside its victims, through armourings and shields, vaporizing anything in its path. The creature then sucks and nourishes from the hot gaseous matter.

This is the coastal area of Sulvec which they call Paraiso ni Juan. It was discovered by the Spanish forces sent to Vigan under the watch of Capt. Juan de Salcedo. The fleet had shipwrecked along the coast and they asked the locals of the name of their place.
Clayton Clark was the definition of promising. He flew through high school with ease, and Harvard was all but child's play. Fresh out of college Clayton found a job at a newly built Delta Labs in Kroma City. He grew with the new branch, and quickly rose up the ranks to a respected scientist. He found a girl, they got married, they tried to have kids, but Clayton was infertile. That news left a very large hole in Clayton's life.
Robotics, Botany, Chemistry, he tackled any and everything. But eventually, everything got boring. Functioning robots were mere Legos, discovering a new chemical was like finding an extra chip in the bag, Clayton became depressed. He had it all, they even adopted a child, but he still wasn't happy, something was just missing. He created new life daily, he just couldn't create his own child.
One day when it was storming violently outside, he was walking out to his car after work when he slipped in mud and fell. While Clayton laid on the ground, unmotivated to get up, the strangest thought popped into his head. Something so outlandishly impossible it might just be possible. He got a sample of the mud and brought it inside. Clayton stayed up all night tampering with it, putting the mud through tests of electricity and more. For the next few weeks he continued to test on the mud, much to his superiors dismay. They warned him not to take the experiment any further, as it was pointless, but Clayton continued on. His wife became suspicious of him, he was staying late and leaving early. However, Clayton continued to put mud through test after test, and he eventually used a pheromone treatment on it as a last resort when he was close to giving up, and the mud it moved on it's own. Even if it was the slightest movement it was good enough for him. After all, Clayton had created life! He continued with more and more tests until it moved fluently within it's boxes confines. He decided to subject a mouse to the mud to see what would happen. When a coworker walked into Clayton's lab and saw a puddle of mud completely devour and decompose a mouse, they went to straight to the manager. Clayton tried to reason with them, but his boss said that he needed to destroy the mud sample immediately. But now that he created life, Clayton wouldn't let it be taken from him, so he refused. That was the last straw, and he found himself fired from his job of 20 years. When he broke the news to his wife, she had apparently had enough as well, and left him with their adopted child. Clayton was now all alone, save for the mud. While sleeping by himself that night, the mud had gained enough knowledge to escape from it's box.
Clayton woke up to a cold wet feeling creeping up his hand, and then onto his arm. He frantically tried to remove the mud, but it kept making its way up onto his chest and torso. He screamed as his whole body became covered with his own creation. But he did not die as he expected, instead, the mud had merged into limbs, skin and bloodstream. Fueled by rage, he started his way for Delta Labs to try and reverse this. He was almost there when he felt his skin begin to dry, meaning the mud was losing moisture. Clayton broke into Delta and stole every part and machine he thought he'd need, and created a suit that provides moisture for his skin. A security guard was responding to the noises, and walked in on a naked man made of hardened mud sifting through drawers. He raised his gun, and some sort of primitive instinct seemed to take over Clayton, and he created a spike out of his hand, impaling the guard as he called for backup. He finished what he was doing, and Clayton fled the scene as police arrived.
When interviewed, the workers at Delta immediately knew who it was that had broke in, and the police went to Clayton's home not long after to find him gone without a trace. He has not been spotted since.
Day 2 of villain week! Alright, so I wasn't even planning on including Dr. Clayton in villain week, I've had the idea and figure for about 1-2 years. But I noticed some Clayface version that quite a few people have been posting in about the last month named Payne or something. I just wanted to let everyone know that this isn't a copy of him, and I've had him created since before I knew Payne existed. So I decided that I'd just go ahead and address it now. Anyway I'll see you guys tomorrow with day 3!

The Kodak 35 is arguably the ugliest camera ever made. I own one. It is not only ugly physically but functionally the beast is cursed. It ate two rolls of my 35mm films. No it just didn't eat them. It devoured them and spit them out or whatever were left of them like fishbones. I never made any single decent shot out of this camera. That is why I think it is only appropriate to have this camera proped in front of the most beautiful voice ever around: Louis Armstrong. He not only played beautifully but he sang like he played. It was dearly. Hail to the king. Satchmo's outstanding photo was taken by Philippe Halsman, who shot this for Life magazine. The Kodak 35's paltry photo was taken by Juzno, who shot this for himself for lack of anything better to do with his time.

A jumble of different movie images floating about in my head produced this series. My friend Edward Ballinger was kind enough to pose with me.

In this scene the presence of the new kind is overwhelming and raging out of control over the planet. As I mentioned on an earlier post explaining the regeneration utilizing the human brain, the head of human females are harvested in order to reproduce. I know this part sounds terrible, but it's all science fiction and I would never condone any harm to any human being or living creature. It's all make believe. So with that: As stated prior, the females are targeted for their nurturing instincts and furthermore, those with brown hair and brown or green eyes are sought out for they contain the plant-like pigments. Just like an ant colony, there are different positions for every member of the colony that will perform a variety of tasks. The Harvester would be the individual who is responsible for seeking out these female humans. (ok, it gets a bit nasty here) - At the time of capture, it would clip off the head of the captive with its sharp claw-like wings. The Harvester would then poke out and devour the eyeballs with its long pointy beak leaving empty sockets. The head would then be carried to the individual who would act as sort of a queen in reproducing offspring. But it instead works more like a factory; taking in the head, planting seeds within the empty eye sockets and incubating the fertilized head until it is fully developed and ready to move under its own power. I've been thinking out what the fertilized head might look like in different stages of growth. I'll show the process when it becomes available. More to come...
I hope no one is offended by this part of the story. I know it may seem brutal, but again it's only a dream.

This shot turned out really cool I think with the near shore trees seeming to be the upper jaw and the far off trees being the lower jaw of some beast trying to eat the sun. The lighting and shadows there on the water really caught my eye.
This image was one of my favorites for 2011. There were more than several unnerving moments as I lurked about in these old batteries of Fort Worden. Each sound, however small, is magnified in the
echo-like stillness of this somber place and ones own imagination fuels thoughts of an ill fate soon coming.
I spent 45 minutes working on this particular photograph. Understanding light and doing it in a black and white format can be a challenge at times. Had I used a film camera, I might have gone through an entire roll just to get this photograph. Now, Danielle Hughson could pull that off, but not I.
This scene reminds me of an old Alfred Hitchcock movie for some reason. I devour old movies, especially the ones so masterfully done in black and white. Again, seeing how light is used is so interesting.
2011 has been a good year for me, relatively speaking. Went to many places with good friends and learning a bit more about what it takes to be satisfied with my own photography---which is not an easy thing to do. Perhaps someday I will take a lesson from a well thought of photographer with the hopes of "getting it right, more often than not".
But, then again, maybe not. I am stubborn to the point of "try and try again" thought process!

I would appreciate thoughts on this composition as well as your take on the importance of using "natural light"!
