This is an image I've been working on for the last 2 1/2 weeks, but it's an image I've been trying to do for the last year! This location is a tricky one! I wanted low tide for obvious reasons and I wanted beautiful soft lighting with an amazing sky. Impossible right? I almost thought it would be impossible! Last year I tried to shoot this image 3 different times but every time I went the tide was so high you couldn't even walk on the beach, or low tide was always in mid day with the sun ruining everything. Last month it literally rained every day for 3 weeks straight and the location has been closed for deer hunting. Sunday's are the only days open to the public right now. Some how everything just fell together amazingly this day! I worked the morning, which usually I work at night, so I was off work by 4pm. I checked the charts and low tide was at 5:45pm. My friend was available to model for me, and even though it rained some this day, it cleared right up as soon as we got to the location! Not only that the lighting and sky were BOTH perfect! Everything fell together so perfectly it was like a dream! I even managed to capture another amazing and favorite image of mine "Peaceful Waters" the same day. I plan to go back tomorrow to shoot because I have plenty of ideas after finally getting the chance to explore this place! <3 This is is based off one of my favorite childhood memories. In probably the 3rd or 4th grade my class went on a field trip to our local science center. They had a location there called the butterfly gardens as well, it was covered in butterflies. The instructor placed some kind of sugar water on my finger and within a few seconds a butterfly came over and sat on my finger and sucked it off. I remember being surrounded by butterflies and it was an absolute dream! I will always remember that moment and how magical it was for me and this image is something I've been wanting to create for a really long time and I finally had the chance to and my heart is so full of joy!!
