Developed as a small farm and river trade center in the 19th Century and early 20th Century, Rabbit Hash, a census-designated place, sits along the Ohio River in a rural section of Boone County, Kentucky across from Rising Sun, Indiana. The quirky and charming community features many intact historic wood-frame and log buildings and outbuildings, including houses, shops, and sheds, which are remarkably well-preserved and today form a small and quaint historic district that stretches along Lower River Road. Rabbit Hash’s most notable building is the Rabbit Hash General Store, which has operated in some form in the area since 1831, and is considered by many to be one of the best-preserved historic country stores in the United States. The town has also had multiple dogs who have served as “mayor” in its history, though it does not have an actual municipal government. The Rabbit Hash Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

This guy reminded me of my childhood in Scotland when we would run about in 'the bare buff' as it was called when the sun came out. I thought twice about taking this shot but in the end I turned around and snapped the young teenager who gave me a smile for my troubles :0)

Cairns (/ˈkænz/), is a major city on the east coast of Far North Queensland in Australia. The city is the 5th most populous in Queensland and 14th overall in Australia.
Cairns was founded in 1876 and named after William Wellington Cairns, Governor of Queensland from 1875-1877. It was formed to serve miners heading for the Hodgkinson River goldfield, but declined when an easier route was discovered from Port Douglas. It later developed into a railhead and major port for exporting sugar cane, gold and other metals, minerals and agricultural products from surrounding coastal areas and the Atherton Tableland region.
The estimated residential population of the Cairns urban area in 2015 was 147,993. Based on 2015 data, the associated local government area has experienced an average annual growth rate of 2.3% over the last 10 years. Cairns is a popular tourist destination because of its tropical climate and access to the Great Barrier Reef, one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
Cairns experiences a tropical climate, specifically a tropical monsoon climate (Am) under the Köppen climate classification.
A wet season with heavy monsoonal downpours runs from November to May, with a relatively dry season from June to October, though light showers can occur during this period. Cairns' mean annual rainfall is just over 2,000 millimetres (79 in), although monthly totals in the wet season (Dec-Mar) can exceed 1,000 mm (39 in), with the highest rainfall being recorded in any month in January 1981, where over 1,417.4 mm (55.80 in) of rain fell. Babinda, a town to the south of the city, is one of Australia's wettest towns, recording an annual rainfall of over 4,200 mm (170 in). Cairns has hot, humid summers and milder temperatures in winter.] Mean maximum temperatures vary from 25.7 °C (78.3 °F) in July to 31.5 °C (88.7 °F) in January. Monsoonal activity during the wet season occasionally causes major flooding of the Barron and Mulgrave Rivers, cutting off road and rail access to the city. Cairns has 89.7 clear days, annually. Dewpoint in the wet season (summer) averages at 23 °C (73 °F).
Tourism plays a major part in the Cairns economy. According to Tourism Australia, the Cairns region is the fourth-most popular destination for international tourists in Australia after Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. While the city does not rank amongst Australia's top 10 destinations for domestic tourism, it attracts a significant number of Australian holiday makers despite its distance from major capitals. There is also a growing interest in Cairns from the Chinese leisure market with occasional direct flights from Chinese cities such as Shanghai and Guangzhou. During the 2013 Chinese Lunar New Year period alone, Cairns saw 20,000 Chinese holidaymakers flying in on chartered flights.
The city is near the Great Barrier Reef, the Wet Tropics of Queensland, and the Atherton Tableland.
The Cairns esplanade includes a swimming lagoon with adjoining barbecue areas. In May 2003, the then Cairns Mayor Kevin Byrne declared that topless sunbathing is permitted here, as the area is a gathering point for people from around the world who may wish to do so.

" Most art is fragile and some should be placed and never moved away. "
--- Donald Judd
In 1979, with help from the Dia Art Foundation, Judd purchased a 340 acre (1.4 km²) tract of desert land near Marfa, Texas which included the abandoned buildings of the former U.S. Army Fort D. A. Russell.
The Chinati Foundation opened on the site in 1986 as a non-profit art foundation, dedicated to Judd and his contemporaries.

Developed by Guy Motors, Wolverhampton, the front engine Wulfrunian was powered by a Gardner 6LXB engine, most were bodied by Charles. H. Roe.
A prototype vehicle was loaned to West Riding, who used the bus for extensive testing and evaluation on various routes. The company placed an order for the Guy chassis all with Roe bodywork, in 137 Wulfrunians were built. But despite the best endeavors of the West Riding company. Most of these buses were replaced by older buses in the West Riding fleet, seeing most off by the early 1970's.
Here preserved 970, which was the last Wulfrunian operated by West Riding. Sports the red tramways livery and has been undergoing a major restoration across the years. Finally after 40 years 970 carried its first passengers in service, between Dewsbury and Ravensthorpe.

This country estate was developed during the 1890s and early 1900s by Moses and Bertha Cone, the son and daughter of German and Jewish immigrants. Moses and his brother Caesar established one of North Carolina’s largest textile empires during the late 19th and early 20th century.
Cone fashioned the estate, with its 23-room Colonial Revival mansion Flat Top Manor, as a healthful retreat from the rigors of his business empire. 25 miles of well-planned carriage roads, two man-made lakes, and apple orchards are part of the estate.
Today the manor and the entire estate are one of the most heavily used areas along the Parkway and home to the Parkway Craft Center. Carriage roads are popular for hiking, horseback riding and cross-country skiing, especially by residents of the Boone and Blowing Rock areas.
Together the Moses H. Cone Park and Julian Price Memorial Park comprise the largest developed area set aside for public recreation on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
It is on the Blue Ridge Parkway between mileposts 292 and 295 with access at milepost 294. Most locals call it Cone Park. The park is run by the National Park Service and is open to the public.

Concord Mall was developed by Robert E. Fryling, Inc. opened in August 1972. The mall was originally anchored by Montgomery Ward and a local department store Robertson's, then a division of Gamble-Skogmo. J. C. Penney was added as a third anchor alongside a small expansion in 1976. Robertson's closed their location in 1985 due to the financial woes of Gamble-Skogmo and the space was quickly assumed by Terre Haute-based Meis, who opened later that year. Meis soon ran into financial problems after hitting a peak of 10 stores and the entire chain was was sold to Elder-Beerman in 1989. In 2011 The Bon-Ton rebranded the Concord Mall Elder-Beerman with the Carson's nameplate alongside stores in Benton Harbor, MI and Mattoon, IL.
Montgomery Ward folded during the companies last years of operation and the building was subdivided several times, becoming Hobby Lobby in 2002 another chunk becoming ABC Warehouse. A vacant Osco Drug was renovated into a food court christened 'The Grove' in 2008, but it did little to stop the exodus of tenants from the mall. On January 31, 2018, Carson's Parent company Bon-Ton announced they would be closing the Concord Mall location with 42 other stores as part of the company's initial wave of closures. In June 2020, JCPenney announced that they will close 13 stores, including the Concord Mall location, but they later removed the store from the closing list alongside several other locations after being able to negotiate a more favorable lease.

New paperback edition of a biography of the now legendary photographer, Vivian Maier - mostly unknown in her lifetime, working as a nanny, she took thousands of photographs but kept them stashed away. After her life they were explored and created her posthumous fame. Seemed to make sense to sit the book next to my battered, old veteran camera for a snap.
