Они рискуют каждый день своей жизнью ради жизни других. Честь им и хвала!
Roofs of houses are covered with a white snow blanket. It's beautiful and safe at the same time. When these snow blocks fall on the head of passers-by, this is life-threatening. Before the city authorities is a big task to clear roofs from snow. Do this real, bold men. This profession is industrial mountaineering. They risk their lives every day for the lives of others. Honor them and praise!
These are crocuses that we planted in our garden a few years ago . They need sunshine soon otherwise they will die off .
..in large parts of Namibia where there were no significant rainfalls since 2012! Lucky those who live by a river that still carries water!

This Black-bellied Whistling Duck desperately cried for help as it was attacked by a Red-winged Blackbird. Shortly after, the small bird flew away.

Last weekend we had a snowstorm, our biggest snow in years, which followed a big snowfall just a week before. The wildlife were experiencing difficulty getting around. The snow reached this coyote's shoulders at points (I almost got stuck in a ditch where the snow was up to nearly my hip thanks to plowing).

with this heat wave, I've forgot also my trunks at home............................

With PTC active on the Flint Sub, getting non-PTC leaders is a nearly non-existent thing these days. With no PTC capable power available in Homewood, it turned into a "desperate times call for desperate measures" situation. With a pair of dated barns that make many crews cringe, including the engineer on this one who publicly griped about the power and being flashed on a facebook foamer group, the train passes under the cantilever that splits CP Durand and CP Clara. While they may be the junk of the fleet to sensitive train crews, they are the cream of the crop to some.
Desperate Dan is a wild west character in the now-defunct Scottish comic magazine The Dandy. He made his appearance in the first issue which was dated 4 December 1937 and became the magazine's mascot. He is apparently the world's strongest man, able to lift a cow with one hand. The pillow of his (reinforced) bed is filled with building rubble and his beard is so tough he shaves with a blowtorch.
The character was created by Dudley D. Watkins, originally as an outlaw or ‘desperado’ (hence his name), but evolved into a more sympathetic type, using his strength to help the underdog. After Watkins’ death in 1969, the cartoons were drawn by many other artists, principally Ken H. Harrison, though the Watkins canon was often recycled. When the Dandy became digital-only in 2012, the Desperate Dan strips were drawn by David Parkins.
There is a statue of Dan in Dundee, Scotland, where his publishers, D. C. Thomson & Co. are based.

Little story behind this one...
One morning (while on holiday in the Greek island of Crete) I decided to wake very early in hopes of capturing some interesting morning shots.
After shooting a few pre-dawn beach photos, I walked towards an interesting rock-pier, but had to cross some hotel grounds to access it.
When walking past this pool, I glanced back and saw this mirrored reflection of the hotel in the water!
I desperately wanted to capture the moment (but didn't want to spend more than a minute here as I was trying to hurry and reach the rock-pier before sunrise) so I simply laid my camera down upon the edge of the pool and took 2 shots... and this was one of them : )
I was so surprised that this quick shot turned out at all, as it was taken during pre-dawn light and I didn't have time to make fine adjustments before moving on.
The blues you see in the sky (directly over the hotel) quickly changed (by the minute!) after this shot. The glow from the coming sunrise quickly affected it as I walked on towards the pier.
The blueness of the pool water also caught my attention... I think the reflection is very special near the pool ladder & lamp lights : )
This area was beautiful... so of course the title ( Vacation Blues ) has two meanings ; )
This is SOOC (straight out of camera), no cropping or color adjustments either.
That doesn't make it any more special, I simply tried to leave it the way I remembered it that early morning... very soft predawn blues with subtle hints in the sky of the coming glow : )
I thought it turned out pretty well, considering I was in such a hurry to carry on and make it to the next location.
