Conventions are great for putting faces to names. I knew of Ryan Hungerford from his flocked Mad*L, “Tighty Frighty,” in the Me Mad*L show. But I didn’t know he’d been busy working to get his Freak Beast toy out, so now I’ve added another blog to my RSS list. This is the first complete figure I’ve seen “in real life” made by Patch Together, and Ryan spoke highly of the company and process–which lasted about 3 months. The 4.5-inch resin Freak Beast was realized as a result of winning enough votes from the Patch Together community. It produced in an edition of under 100 pieces. It looks like PT is sold out, but Ryan had some on hand at Wondercon for the awesome price of $25 a piece. He said he’d gladly work with Patch on another figure, and we hope he does.

Lots of extra's like stickers, cards and some Qee & Fatcaps!
(this trade was with Yolao from the KR boards.)
thank you yolao!
i was asked to paint a doll a few years back - 2005 maybe?? i don't know the toy's designer or even the show it was in. i wasn't really given the info, despite my requests. at any rate, i did create this punk from just the raw white doll parts. i'm pretty proud of the nails and safety pin. haha
Custom Bellicose Bunny by Nathan Hamill, made with epoxy, polymer clay, painted with acrylics. This one's dedicated to all those who know the hustle and grind and will one day, touch the sky.
The custom made by Yolao he added to the pack!
Based on the manga 'blade of immortal'.

The Forest of Sorrows can be so terribly unforgiving for its denizens, as they wait an eternity for a respite from the sadness. Fortunately for them, the monolithic tree "Solace" serves as a temporary haven where they can take comfort in knowing that they have not been forsaken. You can often hear Fredo, the groundskeeper pick out a tune or two on the massive pipe organ within Solace. He loves Black Sabbath.
"Solace" is my contribution for the "Qee to the City" group show at Art Basel 2010 in Miami. It is a 18" Qee made with magic sculpt, super sculpy, metal, wood, pouring medium, and found objects with a set of self powered speakers built-in.

Here’s a new toy to start getting stoked about: Mad Puss by Monty in conjunction with Pretty in Plastic. The hooded cat lives in a futuristic UK and and totes around “the Mad Puss Milk.” This milk is a reference to the Jamaican expression, “Yu musi a drink mad puss milk.” Don’t quote me on this, but I think Monty told me the usage of such a phrase would be toward someone who is acting a bit crazy. Monty had some prototypes of the forthcoming vinyl figure and an animation. It’s possible a Mad Puss Milk drink may be in the works for the Japanese market (who enjoy “milk” flavor more than most.) As for the phrase, basically, if the security guard standing near Bic Plastics mentioned in this post had been Jamaican, she might have said it to me. I gave Monty my card; it’s no secret I’m a fan of cat toys. Send updates on Mad Puss!
