The exhibition is in Rotterdam City at Designer Toy store FA Nieuwenhuyzen and runs from 28 February to 28 March 2009. All his ball-jointed dolls & designer toys are on display there. October Toys gets the award for best micro event at VTN. The Choking Hazard Mini Gwin Custom Show was so small you might have missed it entirely. The 1-inch figures display rivals those kiosks at the mall that promise to write your name on a grain of sand. My eyesight is crap, but I could make out a couple I thought were fun, like a Groucho Marx Gwin. The Choking Hazard show is set to travel, so get your binoculars out of storage. October Toys also had their Christmas Zombies 5-packs on hand.
Next to October Toys, I got to chat a bit with George and Ayleen of Toy Break. They were both super nice, and I’m going to try to make an effort to watch more streaming video, which I can somehow never sit still for. I got caught up extolling the virtues of Pea Soup Andersens for the hungry SF-LA traveller in knowing company and didn’t get a photo of the beard and fuzzy slippers, which are both real. Last photo here is Toy Break’s Matt who was doing live sculpting on the VTN stage for several hours.

P.J has been around for a long time now. Armed with his old analog camera, he roams the streets like a ghost at night, captures the darkest corners as well as the bright city lights. His hands are trained to be steady thus he has no problem taking crisp sharp images even in the dead of the night.
Delicious Drips was sharing some prime VTN real estate and merch with the Toy2R table. This was where to get DIY Qee and blind-boxed Potamus and Redrum Qee by Kozik. Dli$h helped a brother out when I kept pulling the lavender/pink Redrum colorway. In the end, I was able to get both greens and a variant. But enough about me, Dli$h had an army of custom figures to help support the Make a Wish Foundation. Each of the figures was processed to give it the effect of brushed metals with a rustic antique look. Pretty early in the day, the customized Mad*L and a couple of the other pieces were already sold. Nice!

This is my custom Kathie Olivas Hazel entitled "Til the End of the World", which was my contribution to the Zerostigmata Benefit Collective in Naples, Italy, devoted to raising awareness of Sandoff Syndrome. This piece is dedicated to Mattia Fagnoni.
I envisioned this piece to be a haven where Mattia is not suffering and can play to his heart's content. His father built him the ultimate tree house out of an old tree, protected by a cute wood dryad, where he can drink juice, eat sandwiches and read comic books. Mattia also has a secret treasure chest that holds everything that is dear to him inside of it. If you look hard enough, you may find it. Mattia also loves SCC Napoli, his favorite soccer team. His two best friends are Hubert and Cofield, his stuffed bears. Cofield has been naughty so he is strapped to Mattia's trusty boat. Hubert is guarding the sandwiches and snacks. Always on the lookout, Mattia is keeping watch, making sure that the sneaky Wood Octopus doesn't steal his treasure. Hopefully in this piece, Mattia will always play on, til the end of the world.
I used super sculpey, magic sculpt, wood, metal, paper, fabric and craft porcelain.
I am so loving my D300! The features and speed are absolutely amazing, which makes it seem like a huge jump from my D80.
I was going to eBay the D80 but I will keep it for back up just in case.
Strobist Info (manual & toy only): 1 sb 600 @ 1/4 bouncing off ceiling to the left of the subject.
Look what just arrived in the post! Will have to save this one for later, as I'm headed to an early screening of Astro Boy.
