Prampolini designed the newspaper Futurisimo, edited by Marinetti and Somenzi 1933. Futurism graphics idealized Mussolini in many of their publications.
My graphic design in 1969. An independent study bulletin for the University of Iowa.
I followed the rural mailman in my volkswagen beetle taking photographs of him delivering mail. He finally stopped and asked what I was doing and I explained that I was taking pictures to use at the university. That cleared things up as Iowans have a deep respect for their universities.
At least I didn't have to develop and print my shots as the university handled that through their photo lab and it was just as well. I had very little spare time because my youngest daughter played in the Iowa City high school marching band. If you've ever lived in the mid-west you would understand. I knew every high school football field from Keokuk to What Cheer. And I never realized how many kids and musical instruments could fit into a volkswagen!
Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, Korea
The Dongdaemun Design Plaza, also called the DDP, is a major urban development landmark in Seoul, South Korea designed by Zaha Hadid and Samoo, with a distinctively neofuturistic design characterized by the "powerful, curving forms of elongated structures".
The landmark is the centerpiece of South Korea's fashion hub and popular tourist destination, Dongdaemun, featuring a walkable park on its roofs, large global exhibition spaces, futuristic retail stores and restored parts of the Seoul fortress.
Clipped the batting to two skirt hangers and voila! Instant design wall.
I left 16 squares out of the front because I want to use them in the backing.
The Fat Quarterly quiltalong quilt is such a great way to use up a jelly roll. I've got my eye on my Good Folks jelly roll now- what a stunner that would be!

Interior space of the Mirador del Rio, Lanzarote. The space was designed by Cesar Manrique - an architect and artist from the island.
Manrique had a major influence on the planning regulations in Lanzarote, when he recognised its tourist potential and lobbied successfully to encourage sympathetic development of tourism.
Eleanor sets up things for me to photograph for "my computer club" as she calls it. This works for rainbow colors...Eleanor will be so thrilled
I also use drawings when building aircraft: typically I use three-view drawings to measure the dimensions (I have lots of books about aircraft and copy the three-view drawings onto paper) and work out the planform on graph paper.
Despite the planning, building my Skyhawk model involved a fair bit of trail-and-error.
