The Manitoba Chapter of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC) is proud to present the next installment of their series of Design for Business sessions. In an effort to build awareness of graphic design, and its essential role in business and society, GDC Manitoba is continuing this series with a professional development lunch talk at the Millennium Library on Wednesday May 18, 2011.
This event will take the form of a facilitated panel format, in which attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions they like around the subject of ‘what to look for when hiring a web designer’. Panelists will be comprised of two local web design stalwarts and also a potential client, to help the audience by asking questions of her own. This will be a casual discussion, and those interested are invited to send questions in advance to help shape the discourse to best suit attendees’ particular needs and concerns. Questions such as:
• What types of web design firms are there in Winnipeg, and how do I go about finding a professional web designer?
• What kind of information should I have prepared when I approach a designer or design firm?
• What’s the difference between a web designer and a web developer?
• Should I hire one designer or design firm to do both my web and print work?
