O ile dobrze kojarzę, dzisiaj na odcinku Leszno - Głogów - Żagań linii nr 14 nie prowadzi się ruchu pasażerskiego. Z pewnością w dużej mierze (jeśli nie przede wszystkim) jest to konsekwencją poszatkowania tej linii przez granice województw Wielkopolskiego, Dolnośląskiego i Lubuskiego - te trzy województwa występują już na samym odcinku Leszno - Głogów, a dalej Dolnośląskie i Lubuskie dzielą odcinek Głogów - Żagań niemal na połowę.
Jak widać, regionalizacja kolei ma swoje dobre i złe strony. Do dobrych należy zaliczyć powstanie wielu prężnych kolei samorządowych, niestety bardzo złą stroną regionalizacji jest wycinka połączeń przy i na granicach województw.

This is former Grand Truck Western rail, dating back to 1858 when the Detroit & Milwaukee built west from Pontiac to Grand Haven. Moving east to west, much of the line is still used, with sections operated by CN, Great Lakes Central, Mid-Michigan Railroad and finally Coopersville & Marne.
NS H59 departs Shiremanstown Yard en route for carload freight customers to the west of Mechanicsburg. This train is running on the northern portion of the former PRR Cumberland Valley Branch, now known as the Shippensburg Secondary. Despite the name, this section cuts off at Carlisle.

The crew puts on the headlights on lead unit CN 3197 after waiting for an opposing train to clear the main track. This freight is just getting underway out of the siding here at Sauntry, the siding at Solon Springs, Wisconsin.

This image is a second that was taken recently whilst exploring Priddy in Somerset.
When this image was taken it was coming up towards the end of the night. This was partly due to the Milky Way beginning to dip below the horizon, as well as the position of the Milky Way from when I started at the beginning of the night.
Prior to this image I had repositioned beyond the hill with the tree for any new compositions. If I had decided to wait then perhaps I could have got a similar image that I took from the previous visit with the tree and Milky Way. Maybe next time
After doing some exploring, I decided to head back and reposition roughly where I had been previously. Priddy has some patches of gorse and heather. I decided to try something a bit different and deliberately include some vegetation.
A cool pair of CP SD40-2 departs Cranbrook, BC with the local freight right as the sun disappears for the day.. Regardless I felt lucky to catch this at this late date 10.10.14.
