One Canon 600EX-RT mounted on a tripod with a rogue Flashbender diffuser and directed at me.
Fired by Yongnuo YN-E4-RT transmitter (which was on a sync cord to make adjustments more easily since the camera was on its back on a stool, pointing up at the ceiling.
Framing, camera settings changed, focus and shutter release all done using the Canon wifi Remote App. Ipad was placed on the wooden stool, next to the camera.
The giant Anglepoise lamp (seen top left in the pictures) is seen to the left of the frame.
The dentist drill has a heavy spherical base unit with a protruding metal cylindrical stem. This was placed inside an alloy car wheel which in turn was supported on two black leather dining chairs.
The drill in my right hand is on an articulated arm enabling it to move in all directions. This makes it very difficult to get the pivot points and arms in just the right place in the frame
My left hand is free in this shot but in practice was yielding the syringe and needle (after pressing the shutter and starting the 10 second timer).

We have an excellent dentist (recommended by a ten yr old) there is never any pain. I however get really bored just sitting there with nothing to do. "You won't be surprised to hear that you are the first of my patients to take pictures" he said. It is evident I spend too much time here, because I was surprised.
I have broken one of my teeth, the upper right 8 on the Palmer notation, a wisdom tooth. It cannot be filled or crowned so my dentist has referred me to another dentist in the town who specialises in extractions.
I'm wearing glasses to protect my eyes and have had injections to numb the jaw. Then the dentist pulled the damaged tooth out without trouble. I photographed the tooth afterwards but refrain from showing it here
In my Dentist Office there is this monitor. It displays various before and
afters of crooked teeth correction. It bugs me a bit, since it is the only
eye-catching thing in the room and none of the seats face away from it. I
studied marketing and things like this bugged me all the time.

If there are health benefits to having straight teeth, they are not
illustrated.
