💝 très beau.

An old shot (from a client shoot at the SafeHouse Denim Days) that I reworked. I kind of love it.

Been a lazy Saturday night. My back's still bugging me, so I've just been kicking back on the couch with a heating pad and watching tv. I so wish I wasn't out of bubble bath right now.

On a sleepy Villefranche roundabout, a reclining bronze figure lies draped in flowers, seemingly lost in thought or shielding her eyes from the Riviera sun. Just beside her, a flesh-and-blood counterpart strikes a similar pose—though with less introspection and more attitude. Is it homage, coincidence, or competition? Either way, this unexpected pairing adds a touch of artful humour to the everyday choreography of street life.

FORT IRWIN, Calif. – The 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment Horse Detachment Color Guard leads the way during the first Fort Irwin Denim Day and March Against Sexual Violence April 26, 2013.Organized by the Fort Irwin and National Training Center commanding general, Brig. Gen. Theodore D. Martin, the march is a part of Fort Irwin’s effort here to raise awareness against sexual violence. The denim day history originates in Italy during the 1990s, when a teenage girl was raped and threatened by her 45-year-old driving instructor. Convicted of the crimes, the instructor appealed all the way to the Italian Supreme Court where the judge overturned the conviction because the girl wore tight jeans, reasoning that she would have had to help the driving instructor take them off. Enraged by the decision, members of the Italian Parliament wore jeans to work the next day in protest. This protest soon spread to the U.S. Congress and has since become an annual global movement in which communities express their support for survivors and declare that there is no excuse for sexual violence. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and even though this challenge is/was during the month of September, I'd like to dedicate this picture to a dear friend of mine who chose to have a double mastectomy after learning that she had cancer in one of her breasts. She has a heart of gold, and one incredible attitude! It was no surprise when she was selected to be the Ambassador for Lee National Denium Day, the first time a "famous" woman wasn't selected!

Josiphina Nelson, a volunteer, sewed the 2BCT SHARP team's "inspiration quilt" in recognition of Denim Day and the message of consent.
