Today I went to Cribbs Causeway to try out a Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 - for a long time I've found my D-SLR a bit too much to cart around and though I'm always hoping to be healthier and stronger its frustrating whilst I'm not - so I tend to use my compact for most of my photos - a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01 (I think) - and I've been very impressed with its Leica lens - but I also want more of what I'd been once used to with an SLR... (in the days when I used a Canon EOS 100 mostly).
This and a couple of other photos here were shot with G1.
However I wouldn't say it was a very good test.... the person showing me the camera acted more like a security guard and not at all like a salesperson...
In fact it was only when I came home and checked on the web that I discovered the following facts:
The current (very good) deal is only available on the black model (tough when I wanted the red!).
The very good deal includes a tremendous discount on the second lens (its half price when bought with the standard kit, so £160 instead of £320!).
One has to buy the camera in-store to get the current £50 cash-back offer and free upgrade to a 3 year manufacturers warranty.
As to the camera's ease of use - it must have been pretty good since said salesperson didn't help at all... I would like to have had a bit more of a demo... after all one doesn't usually go in to buy a new camera already knowing how to use it... sigh...
When I got home I rang up the Whiteladies branch and talked to someone who actually knew what I was talking about which is how I know I definitely can't have the great deal AND have it in red... but I will go there for a better demo...

282's forward progress is arrested at Rondout while they try to find a slot for them to get to Bensenville. For a brief moment the clouds split and the sun spilled forth, too late for a decent shot though. Waaay in the back is the EMD Demo unit EMDX 2012 and RJ Corman Genset RJCC 2010, back from their Twin Cities showing.

The New York Digital Health Accelerator (NYDHA) is a program run by the Partnership Fund for New York City and the New York eHealth Collaborative for early- and growth-stage digital health companies that are developing cutting edge technology solutions in care coordination, patient engagement, and workflow management for healthcare providers. The five-month program is unique in that entrepreneur participants are selected by the NYDHA Mentor Network—leading healthcare provider organizations from New York state. Their senior level executives—along with our strategic investor syndicate and entrepreneurs-in-residence—provide participants with product feedback and mentoring. The program provides up to $100,000 in up-front funding per company.
